Habs-Pens II: Rumble in the... Pre-Season - Game Night Open Thread

So after last night's experiment in non-linear live(-ish) game blogging, tonight we try a more traditional open thread for your game comments, as FHF continues to figure out what the fuck this blogging thing is all about. Watching the game on RDS? Listening online? Either way, here's a spot for you to say how great Carey Price is, or bring the snark. We like snark.

And the totally random stripper shot is to give you something nice to look it all night. It's like a public service from the FHF.

  2. Halak gives up a juicy rebound and it's 1-0 Pens after 37 seconds. Bring on Price!

  3. Jeez Halak looks lost, 2-0 Pens after 2 minutes. Seriously, bring on Price.

  5. Holy shit, watching "El Dandy" put the puck right on a Pens stick, and the way that O'Byrne seems to be playing pretty solid, I say cut "El Crappy" right now and bring on O'Bryne...

  6. Hmmm... Koivu doesn't look to sure after that hit on his knee after scoring. Hopefully no damage...

  8. Ryan O'Byrne impressed, Price had a few nice saves. Nothing else positive out of this.

  10. Some of the plays that Carbo (Muller in the preseason?) was trying tonight were interesting. Lots of nifty little drop passes and cross-ice moves. Unfortunately, we kept passing the puck to each other's skates! GAH!!! So frustrating...

Equally unfortunate? Our top line was pretty bad tonight, Koivu's beeyoutiful goal excepted. I keep hoping Ryder will turn the corner and develop into a player who does more than score a hat trick every dozen games, but it's looking less and less likely.

That being said, Hamerlik surprised the heck outta me tonight! Seriously smooth skating, excellent awareness, and he was clearly trying to direct traffic and help the rookies out. He may turn out to be a really good investment for the team - go figure!

  13. Flat. Flat. Flat. Occasional nice saves by Price. A couple of nice moves by Koivu. All in all, this is exhibition. I'm cutting my nails tonight, and that matters more.
