So, you know, game one was alright. Pretty exciting really, what with the crazy bounces and goals and a happy ending. But it was exciting in the regular season sense. Both teams were tired and sloppy from their 7 game series. The couldn't give us the epic, tough playoff battle type of exciting. There was that Richards hit on Kovy (btw, no attempt to injure imho, though others disagree), but no real chippiness. So that's what I want starting tonight (well, not attempts to injure) - emotions. Grittiness. Dirt. A playoff series, for fuck's sake. Here's some bullet points to get the catfight going:
- 7 PM start. Have any of you been to that lame "tailgating" thing next to the Bell Centre before games? What's the deal?
- Be sure to pray to the Holy Trinity of flyers blogs, Flyers. Femme, eager to go psycho, and Flyers Goal Scored By. Nadine, i'm working on getting HF4 and Panger over to take your dare. They're stuck in a strip club, as usual;
- SlowGreekBang Line. Who loves ya baby?
- And Kovy. You know, he does stupid things, he disappears for periods or games sometimes, but in the end he always seems to get plenty of points in the playoffs, again this year a point per game;
- Hot for the Flyers - Jim Dowd!
- No line-up changes, meaning Breezer is free to score more goals (into his own net! [rimshot]) while Rhino's built-for-the-playoffs giant body languishes in the pressbox;
- Here's what I think. The Flyers were tired in game one, and we were pretty lucky to win. This game is going to be a lot tougher.
Alright enough talk from me, let's hear it from you. Go hockey, go pants, etc, etc.
Should the Habs win the Stanley Cup, I'm going on the meow-ish Kat Von D's show and get the CH with a nice number 25 tattooed on me whilst the other L.A. Ink gals catfight over me. Yes I'll give the FHF blog a nice Pants-ish plug.
ReplyDeleteI've beat this dead horse a few times the past week, but is it possible Higgins will show up tonight?
ReplyDelete8 games, two goals, zero helpers, 17:22 ATOI..unacceptable.
ooof...the words "hot" and "Jim Dowd" in the same sentence make me nauseous!
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, SlowGreekBang sounds good.
And I agree on this whole lack of hatred thing...can't we just fast forward to the next round so we can focus our hatred on Crosby?
I just wish WE could see the pics Breezer must have of Gainey and Carbo in that compromising position....
ReplyDeleteman this RDS pregame is going on forever. drop the fucking puck already.
ReplyDeleteNo Breeze, O'B is in!
ReplyDeletemoeman that news has brought a tear to my eye
ReplyDeleteOh Canada!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletehehehe
ReplyDeletealright FINALLY some hockey
RDS just showed tape of Breezer leaving the ice after warm up. what a sight
Sweet stare-down by smallTits.
ReplyDeleteim in Jim Dowd hell. what a waste of a good start
ReplyDeleteBrutal. Gotta keep the pace going.
ReplyDeletecorrection umberger. either way, FUCK
ReplyDeleteOle ole ole ole, ole, o.......shit.
ReplyDeleteYou see what happens when you sing the Ole song too early? It's a good thing we had that unassailable 0-0 lead, so that goal won't hurt us too much, right? God.....
Ha-lak! Ha-lak!
ReplyDeleteWeak.
ReplyDeleteWell, shit. That was just a perfect shot.
ReplyDeleteI blame the lack of a stripper picture on the new game thread. What else do you think Price does 30 minutes before the game? Lack of strippers has thrown his game completely off kilter.
ReplyDelete@Rips it - are you not seeing a dark haired chick with many tattoos hugging a stripper pole?
ReplyDeletetake advantage for fucks sake!
ReplyDeleteNope, just a blank space in Firefox and a red X in IE. :-(
ReplyDeleteOoh, 5 on 3! A goal is needed on this one.
That penalty is gonna piss off cherry.
ReplyDelete2-1.
KOIVU!!!
ReplyDelete"SlowGreekBang line"
ReplyDeletethanks for reminding me I haven't been laid in months, boyos.
On second thought, that does mean I have better health in a lot of ways, plus I don't have to fool around with a significant other or whatever. So, ehn.
is every game in this series gonna be 5-4 or 4-3
ReplyDeleteoh my god this line
hey rips it - do you see her now? refresh?
hwy now some action!
Almost total domination, if not for one crappy goal. Keep it going boys. Keep. It. Going!
ReplyDeleteIt's just like the first game--something bad happens (Philly getting the first goal despite Montreal having momentum) and the Habs panic for a bit, then they recover (the 5-on-3 helped speed it up) and get back in the game. I don't think it's reasonable enough to expect the Habs to play a mistake-free game so maybe it'd be better if they just learned to deal with them instead of letting themselves fall into an even deeper hole after it happens.
ReplyDeleteI think the Habs had a great period. One of them didn't paly very well, though. Can you guess who? He better straighten up.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the media and Flyers fans Montreal didn't deserve to be in the same league as Philly last game (not what I saw) and if the stick didn't break it would have been 8-0. Hopefully this period shuts them up a bit.
Yeah, right.
The only way to shut up the Phlyers and their Phans is to beat them. They'll yip until there's OT in Game 7 and then they'll run over our goalie and rub it in after a cheap goal.
ReplyDeleteAlso, is Birdface even playing tonight?
@29: There we go! Quick, someone tell Price!
ReplyDeletehas the Streit-Dandy-Max line done anything lately?
ReplyDeletegreat. line juggling time
ReplyDeletewe can get on with it anytime now...
ReplyDeleteFUCK. disaster brewing
ReplyDeleteCan't blame Price for that one. The Habs have been listless for the last few minutes. Feel free to step it up, guys.
ReplyDeleteFantastic save by Biron.
ReplyDeleteAUUGGHH. nice save.
ReplyDeleteDid Pleks share a water bottle with Ryder? What the hell is up with him?
ReplyDeletehey! here's the chippiness i wanted
ReplyDeleteBiron winning the goalie battle
ReplyDeleteBring me the head of Martin Biron.
ReplyDeleteFuck Biron. Fuck Biron. Fuck Biron.
ReplyDeleteFreakin' Biron is making my beer taste stale. Bastage!
ReplyDeleteChip away boys. Go habs Go!
ReplyDeleteThats one.
ReplyDelete*Clapping hands vigorously*
ReplyDeleteamazing the way the crowd is back in it
ReplyDeletePrice is certainly NOT right tonight
ReplyDeletesorry
but seriously, he's fighting the puck and himself
orangeman, is it almost Monday over there? ; )
ReplyDeleteLappierre and Dandenault have done squat. Grabs and CCR might see some icetime in PHI?
ReplyDeleteOH GOD higgins so close
ReplyDeleteHack the bone! Hack the bone!
ReplyDeleteFSS Pleks!!!!! Open side!
ReplyDelete@moeman: Yeah, it's Sunday here. I'm up after 4 hours of horrible drunken sleep.
ReplyDeleteDid Richards just try to butt-bug Price? I feel a Habbie goal. I just feel it.
o-man, spinning rooms are not fun. Have a good Monday dude.
ReplyDeleteFUCK. just pathetic
ReplyDeleteHas Price forgotten how to ice a puck? That's three goals he should have done better on, screen or no screen on goal #1.
ReplyDeletemeh, sleep not being lost here. Habs are still the superior team but tonight is a game full of mistakes.
ReplyDeleteOh well, at least no rioting in the beautiful Montreal. At least the cbc will be happy, so thats nice.
ReplyDeletewell, you could easily say Fleyrs deserved Game 1 and habs deserved this one, so whatevs
ReplyDeleteim worried about Price again
Yup, Price has to re-ground himself because the PHI fans will be on his case. The kid is getting every lesson in the playoff book. 2 of the 4 goals allowed were major lapses. Carbo will likely line juggle again but he's gotten us this far so I'm not going to be quick to complain.
ReplyDeleteMontreal was obviously the better team tonight, but that's how it goes. No panic here (I'll leave that to HF29). One player on Philly was strong and one player on Montreal was weak. Unfortunately, they're in the most important position. The good news is we know Price can rebound from weak games and that Biron can't be that good all the time.
ReplyDeleteNow for a well deserved nap.
RDS' Brunet is right, the Flyers are arrogant when they win. Time to regroup and cram that arrogance down their throats.
ReplyDeleteI'm still more confident about this series than I was at this point in the Boston series. Montreal would have won this game if Price didn't put in a horrible performance.
ReplyDeletemoeman, that's funny.. i have a habs tattoo planned as well for if they win. gonna have the logo in the background with either Koivu or Price lifting the cup in front. never thought of having the number 25 worked in there but that makes sense.
