Right, there's a Leafs game!

I really didn't want to put this up, but I really, really have a thing for Trish Stratus. Thank god for MS Paint.

Last minute quickie preview and open thread. Game at 7:30 at the Bell Centre, and it's on Sportnset Ontario. Leafs suck, Habs suck less. If you want to read something, scroll down to HF4's brilliance about the Rangers game.

Let's get it on! With hot ex-wrestlers!

  2. Good luck tonight, fellas.

    Go easy on Grabovski.

  3. Ugh. I fail to understand why I could watch the Rangers game on TV in Vancouver, but this one (which undoubtedly has more relevance in this market due to all the expat Torontonians in this city) is not available.
    Well, I understand completely WHY, but it still makes me mad.
    Looks like I'll have to resort to my trusty Zone De MatCH and it's unfailing tendency to freeze up during the last five minutes of the third period.

    When is Marc Denis going to play a game? We all know he's going to post a shutout in his first start.

    Why the fuck is Brisebois still playing?

    Where are my pants?

  4. Yeah, finally a game against the leafs. It seems we (hum, I mean the habs) haven't played them for the last 6 months.

  5. @moeman - so nice to see the commentors helping each other out. brings a tear to this old blogger's eye

  7. Borje Salming really looked like Roger Daltrey there

    ReplyDelete
  8. With all due respect to Habs pre-game ceremonies, that was lame. Totally. The 'rivalry' just isn't. Next time flash a clip of Kovy dropping an elbow into tucker.

  9. 4 classes it all up. and looking good, thank god

  10. Good selection of classy players that rep'd their teams well. Johnny Bower has nice hair.

  17. Tenderness from a sweet play from KTops! 3 à 1.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Wow, Breezeby has bagged 3 assists so far tonight. Carbo will tuck him in for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Did I hear that well? Brisebois has 3 points already?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Brisebois with 3 points?

    Who needs Kaberle?

    ReplyDelete
  21. we're all having a mass hallucination about the Breezer 3 points. can't be true

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yup, ole Breezer has surpassed J-C Talbot with his 3 points, so far ...

  23. Why no original sweaters?

    ReplyDelete
  24. For FHF's statisticians, no assist by Breezeby on goal #4.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Sittler and Salming must be dejavu-ing the late 1970s. NTTIAWWT.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Has SuperPleks ever dropped the gloves?

    Also, re:upthread innuendo, the leaf has a Finger and a Tosksalad.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Tosksalad

    winner, FHF nickname award 2008-2009 season (non-Habs division)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow, those Bell Centre Centennial bronze Habs greats statues (with snow!) look positively amazing. Maybe its cabin fever, or not.

    ReplyDelete
  29. LG77 (at the game with Panger) rants via email: "Why the fuck are there so many game misconducts?? Did the refs decide to go straight past go, bypass the roughing and fighting penalties and go straight to jail?? Both Panger and I are very perplexed..."

    this is getting ugly

    ReplyDelete
  30. quick, Beliveau, suit up we're gonna run out of players

    ReplyDelete
  31. WHy fight against a guy with a visor?

    ReplyDelete
  32. @hf29, merci mon ami, I use to call him Tossed Salad (google it kidz) and decided to shorten it. I can't wait for a Bruins game, for some fun name calling and maybe a parody.

    ~~~
    Brad May, tough guy, takes on the smallest Hab. Man has the leaf sunk. (Yes, I love it).
    ReplyDelete
  33. BGL! Get yourself a new groin & get in this game, for fuck's sakes!!!
    ReplyDelete
  34. Moeman:
    Thanks for the tip! Now I have two sources of choppy video and bilingual annoying broadcasters. Fucking right on!
    Piecing the two screens together with my Stella Artois Goggles gives me a pretty good idea of what's happening but I'm not too sure... is that Borje Salming on the 4th line?
    ReplyDelete
  35. Would be fun for the Bell Centre fans to chant 'may day', using the Olé rhythmic theme of course.
    ReplyDelete
  36. @VanHab, glad you are getting bits and bytes bud. BTW, did you clear the snow off your dish?
    ReplyDelete
  37. the hocketfanzone boards, really moeman?
    ReplyDelete
  38. Moeman,
    The forum that accompanies the justin.tv link is fucking terrible. Makes me appreciate the scholarly discourse here at FHF.
    As for the snow, 72 hours of torrential rain took care of the snow. I'm 16 months remove from Quebec weather, but I must say at least it's PREDICTABLE.
    How many fights have there been? Legit question; ever time one starts, the connection fizzles. It's like my modem is attached to Bouillon's helmet.
    ReplyDelete
  39. Yup, HFZ, previously Metroboards, a gang of ex-CBC board friends who once hung out at, wait for it, sportsnet's original hockey chat.
    5-1 Habs
    ReplyDelete
  40. beautiful save, beautiful goal.
    ReplyDelete
  41. @VanHab, just posted the link thinking you'd get a good game feed.
    ReplyDelete
  42. FYI, no Breezer assist on Big Tit's goal.
    ReplyDelete
  43. FYI the atdhe.net feed is pretty good.
    ReplyDelete
  44. ahhh wonderful, coming in clearly now. Thanks again.
    Fuking Ole chant. What will it take to get a "Les Canadiens sont la?" do you think?
    In order for it to catch on, I'm pretty sure someone will have to make a techno remix of it. Then there will be a video for it featuring Benoit Brunet in a speedo dancing in front of a green screened montage of archive footage.
    you heard it here first.
    ew.
    ReplyDelete
  45. yeah I'm on the atdhe feed right now and it's fucking killer. Many thanks!
    ReplyDelete
  46. @VanHab, "What will it take to get a "Les Canadiens sont la?" do you think?
    Les Canadiens on Radio-Canada?
    The Olé has taken over, just like a Joel Bouchard+Coach Demers lovefest.
    ReplyDelete
  47. 20 minutes, don't screw this up
    ReplyDelete
  48. Wtf happened to Breezer? His words are plain Quebec french but he seems to have acquired an english accent to their pronounciation. Bizarre.
    ReplyDelete
  49. @hf29, I'll do my best not to.
    ReplyDelete
  50. Jamal Mayers has all of 5 points this year.
    1 goal and 4 assists.
    ReplyDelete
  51. GUI! - that was the best move only not to finish ive seen in a while
    ReplyDelete
  52. Also, love Pax's jersey number.
    ReplyDelete
  53. it's like he chose the number with this game i mind
    ReplyDelete
  54. Woot!
    Back after a little delissio break gonna restart the third period and skip through...
    Brisebois talks funny...
    Cujo!
    Pacioretty!
    Fuck yes
    ReplyDelete
  55. ... and there you have it, Les Canadiens sont là!
    ReplyDelete
  56. heh, grabovsky shoves the ref Sundin style.
    ReplyDelete
  57. Nice, Carbo grabs Small Tits by the scruff and pulls him back.
    ReplyDelete
  58. Breezer first star. we're still hallucinating
    ReplyDelete
  59. 29, this time, it wasn't the meth.
    ReplyDelete
  60. That was entertaining! Nothing like a good Leaf shitkicking to really make a girl feel good. Also, the game spawned the best thing to come from Inside/Out in a while -- Grabs' new nickname: Grabitchski.
    ReplyDelete
  61. When exactly are we releasing our held breath and turning from "habs suck less" to "no fucking competition"?
    Also, Max Pack and I are getting married.
    ReplyDelete
  62. That was fucking fantastic. sixty-seven! *clap clap, clap clap clap* sixty-seven! *clap clap, clap clap clap*
    I just wish that they would have let Little Tits beat the snot out of that little Grabby bitch. It's no fair that the linesman was the one to tackle him to the ground. Fuckin' refs.
    ReplyDelete
  63. Should've photoshopped a habs logo over the leafs logo or even the logo from the classic blue habs jersey that looks eerily similar to the leafs current.
    Guess the linesmen didn't want any grabbing of tits...he should've let the mikhail go for it.
    ReplyDelete
  64. Grabovski said he expects to be suspended for shoving linesman Scott Cherrey while trying to get at Kostitsyn, who was also fighting off officials to try and engage in a fight.
    But Grabovski added that he wouldn't mind challenging Kostitsyn where there are no officials in sight.
    ''I think he is not Belarussian now, he is French because I never fight with Belarussian guys,'' Grabovski said. ''I don't know why he wants to fight with me. If he wants to fight, we'll go in the street and every minute of every day I'll wait for him and we'll fight.''
    I'd dismiss this as completely ridiculous, since both guys have tons of people highly invested in making sure no fight actually happens, but who knows what the hell happens in Belarus in the summer, maybe Grabs and Sergei will end up knife-fighting or something. Loser has his mullet cut off.
    ReplyDelete
  65. Who cares about Grabs. Sergei's better and more fun!
    ReplyDelete
  66. It`s games like these that make me wish i had no job. Missed what looks like the game of the year. And can someone tell me what Moeman meant when he mentionned Carbo grabbing Little Tits by the scruff?
    ReplyDelete
  67. "the scruff of the neck" is the back of the neck. Grabbing someone by the scruff of the neck usually means to grab the back of their shirt/jersey collar, but it can actually mean loose skin on the back of the neck. Like some dogs/cats carry their young in their mouth, right?
    Wiki explains it better: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nape_of_the_Neck
    Basically, Carbo grabbed him by the back of his jersey collar and yanked him back onto the bench.
