Rangers' Tom Renney axed; Carbo's breathing becomes laboured

Fresh off the recent Pens' firing of Michel Therrien for sucking up the Eastern Conference standings, Tom Renney has been fired by the New York Rangers after their 10th loss in 12 games.

Kovy may have saved Carbo's ass on Saturday.

  1. One more loss to the Leafs, and Carbo is gone.

    The Leafs are COACH KILLERS!

  3. Carbo is safe. Gainey isn't the type to fire the coach when a lot of the problems aren't his fault.

Glen Sather on the other hand is just that type of person.

  4. So, I guess no more Tortorella on TSN. Does Mad Mike still sit on 'the panel' at times? Or is he strictly CBC (in Canada)?

Bob Cole play by play with Mike Milbury as colour man = worse combination in history of Hockey Night in Canada. Way to go CBC - a great way to celebrate Hockey Day...

Cole's gotta go. Elliot (or was it Auld?) made that great glove save on the Higgins break away:

Cole says about 3 seconds after the fact: "And Elliot deflects that one out of play." What?!

One other instance as Ottawa is carrying the puck up the ice:

"And the Leafs........are ready to welcome Mats Sundin tonight. That's the next game." At least Bob made the save on that one - or should I say deflected it....

  5. The best stupid media moment I've ever seen was just after the tradedeadline they had two former GM's analyse all the trades to tell us which ones were good. Those two GM's were JFJ and Mad Mike, arguably the two worst GM's in NHL history. Way to go TSN.

  6. Limerick,

Agree 1000000% on your comment about CBC... I was watching the game for the first time in about 2 yrs and besides the absolute senility of Bob Cole, he didn't give a shit about the Canadiens nor the Senators. Completely clueless and boring game from the announcing perspective. The only reason he didn't do the Toronto game was because Hughson was doing it (Vancouver angle pleaser, which is awesum)... I should have watched in on RDS HD, but wanted to see how biaised CBC was.

By the way.. I'd pay a lapdance if we get a Jaro-blog after the Tuesday night game.

  7. @rick:
I don't have the RDS HD feed AND I was relegated to the 2nd television so CBC was my only choice as my wife and her friends were using the big TV for some pole dancing instruction.

I'm looking into getting a pole mounted in the bedroom................../crickets.

  8. @Limerick... lol at the crickets... wife pole dancing with friends or a 3pm hockey game with the geriatric Bob Cole... good call my man, just like that Molson "PIZZA Girl" advertisement....

I recommend you also add a trapeze in the bedroom, that way your girlfriend will have somewhere to watch. ;-)

  9. SHUTDOWN:

Montreal needs an english televised games, and this guy should be it.

  10. Maybe CTV should start showing Habs games in english instead of crappy gossip shows at 7pm...call up the Bulldogs play-by-play man. He's like a cross between Ned Flanders and Rick Jeanneret, though not as funny as the Panthers guy but just as enthusiastic. Waka Waka.
