Buh-Bye DOOM. We Hate You Already

The Leafs? Really? Wouldn't want to be Komo those Saturday night's the Leafs are playing at the Bell Centre. You think the fans hated Grabs...

At least Brian Burke showed his true idiot colours by overpaying for a guy who couldn't score with a fist full of Euros in a Amsterdam brothel.

  2. Hate is not strong enough a word for a traitor. It took $500k per year to diss the Habs? A potential Habs Captain? heh, you wish. komisarek is a cheap imitation of an honest player with a modicum of integrity. Go fuck yourself mike.

    i can't believe i will join the fuck you DOOM chorus, but i will. fuck you DOOM

    i need a line up card or something

  6. I don't hate Doom.

    The Habs didn't rate him. The Leafs do. Good luck to him.

  7. Mike Komisarek shall go fuck himself.

    I had a nightmare a few weeks ago that this happened. (I'm not kidding, I think I even commented about it somewhere)

  8. seriously, i loved DOOM as much as anyone. wanted him here forever. but moeman is right - $500k difference to go the Leafs? that's fucking treasonous

    ReplyDelete
  9. I don't hate him either. Can't understand how a kid grows up a habs fan, plays with them for 4 years (or whatever), then goes to play for the Leafs, their most hated rival though? It's not like his Mom made a deal with Mr. Eaton and he HAD to go play for the Leafs. Fuck me.

    So I say, "FUCK YOU MIKE." Doom is no more.

  10. @L Dude: +1 for the Hockey Sweater reference. Now I have Roch Carrier's voice in my head.

    What's all the fuss about Komi, anyway? Maybe it's different for me because I fell out of love with the guy early on in the year. Frankly, as much as we all hate Lucic, it was pathetic seeing Komi getting destroyed by him multiple times.

    Of course, it's not only that. He flat out SUCKED going into a contract year and fucked up a lot last year. Granted, most of our team did, too. I'm sort of glad he's on the Leafs, frankly. I wouldn't really worry about him and Schenn together or him and Kubina together.

    I give a thumbs up to Cammalleri

  11. Wrote this elsewhere and too lazy to re-type;

    Loved KRex as a Hab, he is now persona non gratta. Take the extra $500k per and GFY.

    Gill is getting older but will/could put in 15-17 minutes of size on a 2nd or 3rd D combo.

    Spacek is steady, smart, 2-way Dman with speed. KRex had no speed (did hit once) and was no where near Spacek point capabilities. Let's not forget the Cube is gone too.

    Gomez is a wild card and an expensive one but has major upside if lined-up with some good>great wingers. Koivu is my fave modern Hab and if he leaves I will shed a tear. Good luck to him wherever he lands. I really want to see Tanguay on a line with Gomez.

    Cammalleri is maybe not worth $6M but he makes the Habs a solid threat with him on one of the first two lines and the PP.

  12. Um... who's going to be the captain next year? No Higgins... no Komisarek... in all likelihood, no Saku. Do they give it to one of the new guys? Does Gainey resign Kovalev and give him the 'C', after he had a mandatory time out last year because his heart wasn't in it? Is that supposed to inspire the locker room to come and leave it all on the ice every night?

  13. After the Lucic massacre, you knew his days were numbered. It was an embarrassment the way he got bitchslapped in Boston.

    I heard the Habs offered him $3.5m which means he went to TO for $1m more.

    Regardless, he went to the Laffs and now he is fair game. Let's finish this mofo and his bad shoulder for good

    ReplyDelete
  14. Maybe the Habs 'C' was worth more than $500K to Doom. Methinks he pedestalled himself and landed in the universe of pedestalled players.

  15. Speaking of Kovy, what the fuck is his status? It's been all sorts of quiet about for a couple of hours now. Is he even alive now?

    I wonder if he's going to be back now. Perhaps we keep Tangy if Kovy leaves?

    Saku, where art thou?

  16. Can anyone tell me what DOOM stands for? I've been reading this blog for too fucking long now, and I demand to know if it's an acronym or not.

  19. Also, it'll be fun to hear what Doucharek was offered by his childhood/hometown Isles in his play to get the big $ (cuz he knows he's finished).

  20. Listen to Cammalleri neatly answer the obvious questions.

    Bienvenue Mike.

    Cammalleri and Gomez? That is one hell of a fucking 1-2 punch at centre. Bob, I'm sorry I ever doubted. Forgive me.

    Anyone know how much cash we have left? nhlnumbers.com is down, and I want to know if we have enough to sign both Kovy and Tanguay (I'm thinking 3/year for Kovy and 5/year for Tanguay). I really, really, REALLY want to see a PoonTang/Squid/Big Tits line. Like... really.

    Btw, is anyone else curious where Pleks ends up? He's a centre with 2 legitimate offensive threats at centre, a very good 3rd line centre, and Chips/Metro on the fourth. Is there ANOTHER trade upcoming?

    D is still suspect.
    Markov-Gorges
    Hamr-Spacek
    O'Byrne-Gill
    That third pairing is 13'1 of pussy-ass pylon. Though with Weber or Carle we'll have a helluva powerplay...

    ReplyDelete
  22. And not that it matters at this point, but Cube?

    I know he's as tall as he is wide, but was that an acronym too?

    SSHF- Cammalleri would play wing with Gomez. The comically-chubby Mexican Alaskan, who chews tobacco.

  24. Also, I can see burke the blowhard making Doucharek the leaf captain.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Daniel PlainviewJuly 01, 2009 7:57 pm

    if the Leafs are going to trade Kaberle then Doucharek is going to blow harder than Burke next year.

    ReplyDelete
  26. In order to make Doucharek blow really hard in his blue&white pajamas I suggest Bob sign Cube to an 8 game contract (is it 6 now?) for $800 and have him just play vs. leaf and key in on Doucharek's girlie-man shoulders. Maybe even throw in a tuckeresque tussle with a resulting TKO and give Frankie a bonus.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Komo going to the leafs makes sense in a way, if he stayed here and sucked as badly as he did last year we'd be calling for his head. Playing for the leafs = zero expectations and he makes more money. What pisses me off is Saks is one of the few players who has loyalty and it's not about the buck. I'm with you moeman, I'll shed several tears if Saks leaves, especially if they keep that powder puff girlie man Plek instead.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It just came to me. Blackmail. Or bribery. "Want a spot on the American Olympic team Mike? Here's an offer to mull over. Let us know what you think."

    I can think of NO other reason why he would CHOOSE to play for the Leafs.

    Later BOOM! Biatch of other Men.

    Pleks for Volchenkov would make me SO happy. I know I'm just dreaming... but still.

    What moves are left to be made?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Some new$;

    Former Minnesota Wild winger Marian Gaborik has agreed to a five-year contract with the New York Rangers.

    The Slovakian forward will earn $5.75 million per year.

    ~~~
    Earlier in the day, the Canadiens had reportedly offered Komisarek a five-year, $20 million offer.
    @ moe
    Komi dealt with the devil for $500,000 extra a year? Disgusting.
    That's... a lot less than I was expecting Gaborik to sign for. I figured at least 6 mil per.
    Man... so much for a boring summer.
    ReplyDelete
  32. The Gaborik signing is actually 7.5mil for 5 years. So, uh, roughly 40 million dollars for 80 games?
    Also, Gionta to Montreal.
    ReplyDelete
  33. Man, I can't believe that news has slowed to a crawl now. Are Tangy, Koivu and Kovy's agents sleeping? Off to a Canada Day barbeque (here in Portland). Hopefully there's some good news when I get back.
    ReplyDelete
  34. Gionta/Gomez/Cammallari - GIANTS.
    Did Gainey sign Gill to play as the BIG centre he says we need?
    Still, I'm happy. There's been more movement by the Habs today than the day after a night of Mexican food and tequila!
    ReplyDelete
  35. Whoa... Gionta?
    Nobody can accuse BG of not doing anything today. Wow. Man, this is so un-Habs like to actually do anything today.
    People were throwing $13 mil as the amount we have left in cap room, so Gionta's contract brings us to $8 mil. Hm. Tangy, Koivu and the RFAs?
    ReplyDelete
  36. According to Dreger's twitter:
    "Komisarek's deal includes limted no-trade. He submits a list of 12 teams per year he would accept a trade to."
    S'pose the Habs would be on that list?
    ReplyDelete
  37. Good question on what kinda coin is left.
    I suggest Tanguay is gone, Kovy will be back and Saku will need to take a steep cut to stay. I hope he does.
    ReplyDelete
  38. I'm skeptical on Kovy. Why all the news this morning about him being very close to signing and then silence for hours and hours?
    I promise I'm leaving my computer NOW.
    ReplyDelete
  39. South Shore Habs FanJuly 01, 2009 8:51 pm
    Just one of Kovy and Tang at this point, plus maybe a depth D-man and we're done, I'd say. Maybe Ossi Vaananen?
    Man. We ARE the new Devils, aren't we?
    ReplyDelete
  40. @SSHF - did you see my new headline, or are we just on the same wavelength?
    Gomez-Gionta-Calamari. Decent line.
    ReplyDelete
  41. Wait, hold on. We're stuck with Hammer as our captain now, aren't we?
    ReplyDelete
  42. Actually, you know what? Fuck yes, Captain Hammer.
    ReplyDelete
  43. Bummer. I really don't understand why DOOM would want to go there. It's not his childhood team or his hometown team, the contract isn't really a massive overpayment and the Leafs aren't closer to the Cup than we are.
    I'm sad, but honestly, I think I will miss the human being more than the hockey player. He seemed like such a nice guy.
    I hope Lucic a.k.a. Count Chocula bites your face off and Laraque whoops your pussy ass up and down the ice whenever they cross you! Fuck you, sissy.
