The late night early morning game 7 day skate

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of / having nightmares of the NDP holding the balance of power in Canada...
  • GOD FUCKING DAMN that felt good. Habs 2, Bs 1. All hail Squid and TFS and the 5 on 3. Squid now averaging more playoff points per game in a Habs uni than Guy Lafleur and Jean Beliveau. Milan Lucic is an asshole. More later;
  • DIE PHUCKTARDS DIE... is a rally cry that failed us last night as the PHucktards move on with a 5-2 win over the Sabres;
  • The Nucks needed a great game from Luuuuuu and overtime (after Chicago tied it with a shorty with under 2 minutes to play) to finally put away the Hawks and advance with a 2-1 win.
For some reason the NHL highlights aren't working. Conspiracy! Anyway, the Yahoo! highlights seem to work, so enjoy these long form video highlights after a win while you can because we're right back at it in less than 16 hours.

  1. Man you stayed up late/got up early!?

    I'm confused.

    PHucken PHucktards, Die already.

All is well we got dem Broonz right where we want 'em!

    Broonz suck Donkey balls.

  2. I feel good. Just the thought of Lucic and his two game suspension. (laughter in the background)

  3. The conspiracy is complete. The yahoo highlights aren't working either. The NHL will announce game 6 will be played in Boston tonight and Dr. Mark Recchi will say Jaro wasn't actually even hit...

Oh yes, and any puck within 25' of Tim Thomas will be blown dead even if it is travelling at 95 mph....

  4. So it all wasn't a feverish dream? Oh, how delightful! Love Julien blaming the 5on3s after the game. Hey blowhard, worry about your own PP. And job.

  5. tried to post thi smorning but the system kept on telling me to go register.
It's been quite a bit of a problem posting on this site from home.

true to form tonight I will not be really watching the game just kind of following it from a distance and PVRing it

  6. I still can not believe the call on the first non goal, fail.

Lets guess how many games Pretzel gets, oh that would be Zero!

    Sometimes the system is beautiful.

  7. Calling it now: Lucic gets the same suspension that Mike Richards got: nothing.

  8. Geez corn-hard, that is a no brainer. Boston's thuggism is sanctioned by the league and Dr. Mark Retchi is the league's consulting physician.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Don't forget doctor alan vigneault, who diagnosed one canuck defenseman as "having a red spot on his face" (concussion, out a couple weeks).

But yes, I assume they just sort of give Recchi a doctor's title because he's so old. Maybe he got an honorary degree from University of Kamloops? Ever think of that?

  10. Hi Cornelius Hardenbergh,

Welcome to the suck, will you be pulling for the Habs on Thursday?

    ReplyDelete
  11. @ corn-hard

Very funny. But what would you expect from Vigneault? He thinks Greasy Bob is a good goalie.

As long as Mike Murphy (Greg Campbell's godfather) doesn't decide to make them replay the game because the refs shouldn't have kicked Loosestick out.

  12. @Steve If it was Montreal vs. a Nazi-bread team of genetically engineered Hitler-clones, I'd have a tough time picking who to root for.

Yo, but how about that shorty by Toews last night? Holy shit.

  13. @Cornelius Hardenbergh

For what has been all in all pretty stinky hockey with mostly terrific goaltending, it has been highly entertaining.

Boston fans probably hate the trap coaching of Julien as much as Hab fans used to hate the trap coaching of Chocula, but now we all love the system and Chocula is genius. At least next year you will have a new coach, and no Karble.

There is no way I could cheer for Boston or the PHuctards.

  14. I did not see the Toews goal, anybody got a link, I looked but nothing posted.

  15. @ Cornelius:

At least with a Nazi-bred team of genetically engineered Hitler clones, the Habs would have a size advantage. Also, we'd bring Markov back early solely to lure all the Hitlerclones into the long, dark cold Russian winter side of the ice and pummel 'em.

    ReplyDelete
  16. So the Broons aren't "a Nazi-bread team of genetically engineered Hitler-clones"?

  17. I would have said "especially Seidenberg", but whatever...

  18. @Cornelius Hardenbergh

I expected a little bit more fight about the outcome of tonites game?

Has Boston nation just faced the reality they are leaf nation south?

@steve have a little respect, Boston at least has cups in the post-expansion era

  25. There were some Habs fans, not me of course really down after the two overtime loses.

  27. I'm annoyed that we fell short of 150% ice cream in the Game 6 thread. I blame myself.

  28. @Cornelius Hardenbergh

True enough, I cant think of any original 6 team that has not won post expansion, oh wait Blue and White sweaters, smooth skating useless castoffs, the Leafs, its always good to bash the Leafs.

  30. Alright, time to be all business. Mex is on the bubble, half Mexicant and half Mex. The rest of the team played aces.

  31. Dear Anon - the constant whining about the Habs and their fans being whiny little bitches is, well...

... making Bs into whiny little bitches too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. @orange, reference Julien blaming 5 on 3s.

Too many men + puck hit skate it's a must call

Two hander breaking opposing stick it's automatic

Puck over glass delay of game it's automatic

And Lucic was gonna get at least a minor anyway, so stop whining.

Hey Claude did you get a goal stolen in the first few minutes?

    So shut the PHuck up!

I hope he's still upset tonight ' cause they play shit when he starts freaking out.

    GYMFHG!

The official Club de Montreal puck bunny. Kelly, she want to change her name because it sounds Bruin. She dreams of being Jumped by PM Jumpin Jack.

habs fans are whiny bitches, this is an established fact. The trick is, after all these years of rivalry, to move onto more clever things to snip at each other about.

Did everyone see Maurice Richard getting ghost-busted by the days of y'orr folks?

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Cornelius Hardenbergh I would not say this if I did not think someone else may have noticed how dumb it was to put the cover on shaved apes howitzer. I am sure it scared the shit out of everyone in range including TFS. Dumb move by dummies, but thanks.

  36. @CH - saw that. Laughed a bit but, honestly, the "Habs fans are whiny bitches" is getting old to me.

ALL fans are whiny bitches when their team doesn't win.

But when that's the only joke, it starts to become lame.

Agreed that some Habs fans are no better with tagging Bruins as Big Bad Bullies (which is an equally established "fact").

But, seriously, dude, Bs fans (including the Y'Orr peeps who are usually funnier than that) are looking like the racist/homophobic mouthbreathers over at Pens Blog. Present company excluded, of course!

    ReplyDelete
  37. "ALL fans are whiny bitches when their team doesn't win."

Ugh I know, it's the worst. On both sides.

Can't we all just agree that the Bruins will win tonight and that's a great thing? Seems like I'm the only one on either side of the rivalry who thinks that sometimes.

    ReplyDelete
  38. @Cornelius Hardenbergh

There was little chance of that given the improved play of Montreal.

And my Lego avatar has caused a positive disturbance in the force.

    ReplyDelete
  39. @CH, flip a coin for tonight, but the pressure to win has to be on the Bruins.

You guys will have to learn to not deal with the leaf. Your team has been tainted by leaf stench.

Oh yeah, Milan looks lost out there but don't give up on him, he's only 22. He and PK will provide years of rivalry excitement unless they trade him (Lucic) to San Jose...

  40. We got this one tonight. butter!

    ReplyDelete
  41. @ Anonymous

You are so right! The Habs will kick ass tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Maritimer I don't know what's up with Lucic but I'm guessing he's playing hurt. He was a beast to start the season but near the end and in the playoffs he hasn't contributed nearly enough.

Luckily we've got Marchand in the big-nose big-goals department.
