ReplyDeleteReading Hickey's story about the Goat's season recap (again, I guess I don't have much of a life), reminded me about Capt. Kirk's future. Hickey seemed pretty sure that Muller's headed for the Stars, but it doesn't seem anyone else has heard the message. What's everyone's vote? Any other troubled teams looking for a new coach? (Ottawa?).
And, sorry, can't vote for Steve today, he's not running in my riding, but Smilin' Jack is.

ReplyDeleteHarper represents Calgary Southwest and his wife is from southern Alberta. His dad was a longtime Leafs fan.
“Those are the teams that we pull for but look when they're out, which unfortunately seems to be early all the time, we're always ready to cheer for one of the other Canadian teams,” he said in an interview Monday with TSN Radio.
But Harper, a hockey buff, says it may come down to the goalies.
“My read has been that with good goaltending, any team is in it this year,” he said. “I don't think there's anybody can't win in the right circumstances so I think it's going to be pretty hard-fought.”
As for the election, Harper called it a “choice between a low-tax Conservative economic plan or a high-tax NDP economic plan.”
“We will accept with grace whatever verdict they render,” he added of the voters.

ReplyDeletePeople seem to vote right wing, then watch as the world around them crumbles. That right wing party inevitbaly destroys itself and the people move back to a centrist left party. That centrist left party makes everything ok again, but maybe someone gets a bj where they shouldn't and we start all over again with that right wing party and the falling apart world. Look at what has been happening in the US since the 80s. Look what happened here with Mulroney, then Chretien, and now Harper. Look at Britain.
Fact is people are stupid and they are easily bought off with promises of 2% tax cuts. It's like a woman always going back to her abusive husband because he has a good job down at the post office. A relative of mine is a big Conservative supporter. Last time I saw him he was listening to angry talk radio saying liberals were the cause of baldness and impotence or something. He told me people are fed up of all the corruption and that's why they're going with Harper. I'm not going to sit here and say the Libs or anyone else is free of corruption, but if you believe the Conservatives are the way to clean it up then I just can't help you.
