"Ladies and gentlemen, on stage for your dancing pleasure, the Boston Bruins" - Game Preview and Open Thread

Wooden stripper pole. That's gonna cause some painful splinters.

Waiting in line details - 7:30 PM start, TD Banknorth Garden, Boston, MA. On TV: RDS and RDS-HD in French, TSN and TSN-HD in English. Montreal English radio CJAD, Montreal French radio CKAC. Habs won the only meeting so far with a great 6-1 victory (we still don't believe they scored 6 goals). Bruins riding a 3-game losing streak, though they have points in 2 of those. Habs riding a one-game win streak as they head out on this four-game road trip.

Pay your cover charge to - Wicked Bruins Fan. Nothing fancy, just good solid writing and reporting on the Broons.

Unable to dance after too many vodka & Red Bulls - Gui! and Franky Bouillon are game-time decisions. Bruins have been hit hard, with Bergeron still concussed and Fernandez, Ference, and Thornton all day-to-day.

Hot sexy Habs to watch - Carey Price gets the start. Andrei Markov is piling up points like FHF piles up complaints we're not "family friendly."

Hot sexy Bruins to watch - Marc Savard leads with 13 points. Look for Tuukka Rask to get his first NHL start in nets (what I wouldn't give to hear Bob Cole attempt to pronounce that first name), but if Tim Thomas plays he's been great with a 1.67 GAA and .948 save %.

Skanky Habs to watch - I'm not even going to write out his name anymore. You know the Newfie I mean.

Skanky Bruins to watch - with only 4 goals in their last 3 games, most of them.

Post-game adult entertainment establishment - Even though it's a bit out of the way, Mario's Show Place looks like a quality establishment. Over 100 dancers! Sirloin steak dinners only $8! Featured dancers, including one I've actually heard of! Full kitchen! Shower shows! They have it all.

Watching the game? At the game? Listening? Imagining the game in your head? Let's hear your dirty, dirty thoughts in the comments.

  3. Woohoo! Bruins!

Watching highlights form the Bergeron press conference. He looks like he's in pain. He's got a point about the hitting from behind dammit

HF29: Apparently, two games is the highest penalty available when playing Fun With Neck Braces.

  6. Maguire has a man-crush on Kovy right now

PLEKS!!! yeh that was nice. WHAT a pass from Tits. WHAT a move by Pleks.

  7. But Maguire has a point, right? Kovy does seem to be... "having fun".

Oh, there was a another gem from Maguire. "Really good job by the Canadiens on their developmental. Stuff."

And did I really hear him say that Streit's slapshot is almost as good as Souray's? Wow. Just... Wow.

  10. Saku's playing Chara perfectly on this 5-3. He's close to him, not letting him get that cannon off.

  13. Yep, glad he's alright. But the replay looks bizarre.

Cube doesn't even look like he noticed the hit, but Ward collapsed like a ton of bricks. As I said, bizarre.

  16. This may be off-topic a bit, but I find it interesting that the Broons coaching staff are wearing poppies. That's not really a done thing in the US, is it? I know they're Canadians, but they must get some odd looks in Beantown.
