- Leafs win their second in a row. From the game story, which is AP so it's everywhere: "It's that kind of good fortune that could propel the Maple Leafs back into the Eastern Conference playoff race." Plan the Yonge Street parade!
- Scoreboardwatcher likes the Canes losing, doesn't like that it was in OT;
- Scoreboardwatcher also digs the Caps getting shut out;
- No Sid, No Gino is starting to become a real problem for the Pens. BJs 4, Pens 1. And Matt Cooke was at it again;
- Sabres score 5 goals in the third to beat the Bolts 7-4. Sabres are a team we'd believe would get back in the playoff race (and now they sort of are) long before the Leaf
- Matt D'Agostini has the game-winner and Jaro had a great game in the Blues' 2-1 win over the Cats;
- Here's your "Gauthier after a year as GM" story wrapup: La Presse, Rue Frontenac, Globe and Mail, J.T. puts them all to shame as usual, and Number31 has a great Mcsplooge-slanted take on it.

Big test tonite GYGHG
May Lego's pucks bulge the twine, like fair Olivia's nipples make the cotton ripple.
so it's me and Steve today?
DIE BRUINS DIE
that is all.
Man, I watched that Cooke link without knowin anything about it. I cringed and looked away thinking that BJ guy was going off on a stretcher. I don't know what's more shocking, that he was alright or that Cooke will escape justice yet again.
To paraphrase Shakespear, Would a player with any other jersey still play next game? Colineo, Colineo, where for art thou Colineo?
GYFuckingHG!
Some action
GYFHG
Bring on the B's!
the leaf have shipped defenceman Francois Beauchemin back to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Joffrey Lupul, defenceman Jake Gardiner and a conditional Ducks' fourth-round draft pick in the 2013 Entry Draft.
~~~
Fucking eh! Was worried The Goat would've taken him.
Price in.
Picard out.
on paper it looks like the Ducks got beat up by Burka
Loopedall is a 4.5M cap hit for 2 years, multiple back surgeries, off the ice headcase, inconsistent, NTC, he'll be booed out of town in a year.
If Goat has not traded tits to Nashville for Shea Weber by 4pm he should be fired for gross incompetence. Nashville fucking owes us big time, before 4 is the time to collect.
Watched the Matt Cooke hit and read Puck Daddy s the leagreview of it. Says that the punishment will be lighter because there was no injury - so am I missing something? Is it ok to shoot at someone as long as you don't hit them? Cooke left his feet and jumped into the hit after the other guy had checked but he definitely didn't see him coming. That is completely wrong and the league needs to get their shit sorted out on this before someone gets paralysed - which I know will warrant at least 10 games!!
Now then - GYFHG - get the b's and get them big time!!
@Kmaxx - that totally drives me insane. a hit is a hit is a hit. shouldn't matter the extent of the injury. it's pure fucking luck whether you get injured
@29 - another example of why you are the blogger and I but a mere occassional commenter...That was exactly what I was trying to get to...A hit is a hit - samee penaalty no matter if there is an injury or not - kinda like shooting the puck over the glass!
The only reason I'm a blogger is that I was really fucking bored at work one day.
Of course TSN does it's duty of sticking up for goons and toeing the company line, "Tyutin appears to look over his shoulder and see Matt Cooke coming!" Yeah, like a full 5 seconds before he was hit. From behind. Into the boards. As Cooke left his feet.
Anyway, I guess he got 4 games. So I suppose we have about a week before another possible career/life-ending injury.
btw, take a look at Nash's goal in that game and tell me you wouldn't masturbate to that if it was in Habs jersey.
preview / open thread up if anyone is still in here. it's a doozy
