The Morning Skate does a little housekeeping for Wednesday, August 12th

Oh, heya! Another yawnsville off-season morning has us contemplative, no doubt like Roger Federer wondering WTF is going on. There are a couple of non-tennis items this morning, notably the next twist in the Phoenix situation, some deal between Reinsdorf and the Yotes principle creditor. No doubt engineered by one G. Bettman. No wait, that's too obvious, let's call him Gary B. Zherdev may be off to Russia. That's about it.

So we've done a little housekeeping around here. Did ya notice? No, of course not, you're all too brain-dead from staring at that stupid clock on the right. Anyway, if you scroll down that right side, somewhere near the three chicks in the Kings jerseys kissing, you'll see we finally did some work updating our blogroll. Man, some of those links were old and dead. We cleaned them up and got them in some kind of order. Check them out, you may find some new reading material to entertain you in the off-season. Especially the non-hockey links, that's basically what we read every day.

If you are a blogger and we missed you, sorry about that. Hit us up in the comments or by email and we'll see what we can do. Special shout-out to the "friends of FHF" section, those bloggers who have been with us from the early days (more than 2 years now! that's like drinking age in blog years) or been involved with us in some sort of sexually-euphemistic blogging contest. So if you are merely an FHF "acquaintance", you now know a three-way is the way to move up.

Habs 4, Avs 2 - FHF to post ridiculously hot supermodels until we lose

There's really only one story from last night's win - Jaro made 46 saves. Habs still suck, but we needed a goalie to steal one to stop the bleeding and we got it.

The win was no doubt due to our posting of Bar Refaeli for the open thread. So dammit, we're posting supermodels til we lose. Of all the streaks we've had at FHF, let's hope this one lasts a long time. Mmm, Brooklyn Decker.

And one other note - many lap dances to FHF regular Baroque for giving us a new link for the Interwebs quotes in the sidebar. Canada's National Newspaper has taken notice. Next stop, the Moose Jaw Times Herald.

Blogosphere Now 63% Less Emo

Will Leitch, founder and editor of Deadspin, has just announced he is stepping down as its editor. Blogtopia is suddenly deprived of one of our fearless leaders, if not the fearless leader.

I have made no secret of my man-crush for Leitch. Having met him in person, having exchanged emails, I can vouch for the sincerity and niceness of the dude, despite his bizarre love of the Arizona Cardinals. I've always said that FHF was started because there was no Habs blog "in the best Deadspin tradition." We only hope to have tried to meet the quality standard Leitch has set for the rest of us.

God speed Will, and good luck.

The Game Day Skate Blogalicious

Bullet points for what you missed while having nightmares of coming up with some sort of content on the morning after a night with no games, and the big hockey story is that Brian Burke is going nowhere...

OK we've got a busy day ahead, assuming the lawyering doesn't get in the way. Some more A History of Evil, maybe some sort of actual hockey analysis god forbid, and undoubtedly some half-naked chick(s) to bring us to puck drop. Conference semifinal action on FHF - catch the fever! Of course, fever is the first symptom in many STDs, so be careful.

From the Department of Self-Pimping

FHF was proud / flattered / totally indifferent to have been approached by Wyshynski, formerly Deadspin's NHL Closer, to write a eulogy for the Bruins season on his new baby, Yahoo!'s Excellent Hockey Blog. HF10 stepped up to the plate and knocked a three-run double off the wall. The only reason he didn't hit it out of the park was he was limited to 600 words, and we all know 10 needs at least a thousand to fully lay out his B's hatred.

Be sure to check it out. It's our last word on the B's. Until next year.
