Given that the allotted mourning time seems to have passed here in FHF Land, can I now request a Jaro post re: his appearance in the third period of Game 3?
@Raquel: I hope Jaro makes an appearance. It would be nice to see how he felt playing that period.

Rather see him than Vinny here, and can you really blame all their playoffs woes on him? I mean, he did have 5 points in 6 games...

He had most of those points in one game. Useless in the others.
The guy's an arrogant douche who can't put his money where his mouth is. He's point-per-game in the regular season, but has 48 pts in 70 playoff games (for comparison, Kovy's off year saw him net 47 points in 73 games). Saku, the 34-year old half-blind cancer survivor who has centred Richard Zednik and Oleg Petrov for God's sake, has the same number of points in 16 fewer playoff games. Not to mention that we need scoring, and Thornton is a playmaker.
I wouldn't touch him with a 20-foot pole.
I'd rather raid the Flames or the Flyers.
@SSHF: Yeah, I agree. Stay away from Thornton. He'd be perfect for a team like Florida or Atlanta, though.
I wouldn't blame Thornton, or anyone else. The Ducks played very well and Hiller stole a game or two at the start of the series.

Woah, woah. Let's lay off the Petrov bashing, eh? Totally uncalled for. Dude was a frickin' bowling ball during his time here and I for one appreciated everyone of his brilliant moves that he never finished on.
In other news, was Claude injured during the Shark's run? Seems he might have been the missing ingredient for a little playoff clutch hockey on their part.

I used to refer to Petrov as "the Matrix" because the film was a big deal at the time and those moves he'd almost pull off looked liked he had to sort of freeze time to do.

I was thinking this morning about what I would do if I were in Bob's shoes, and I came up with this:
1) Publicly announce that Saku will not be back next year - make some comment about new leadership and a fresh face on the franchise.
2) Once the playoffs finish, trade Pleks, Higgins, Gorges, and Subban for Lecavalier and St Louis.
3) Unretire #4 for Lecavalier to wear.
4) On June 30th, the day before Lecav's NTC kicks in, trade him to Minnesota with Max Lapierre for Mikko Koivu. Name Mikko the new captain.
6) Trade St Louis and Latendresse to Phoenix for Shane Doan. Make Doan the new team spokesman.
7) ????
8) PROFIT!
It might fuck our team over (or not, on second thought), but it would be hella fun to watch =D
9) Learn how to number things correctly

i'm the opposite. im ecstatic the flames are out so i don't have to listen to the worst fans in hockey anymore. im pissed the sharks lost cuz i took 3 of them in my pool. i figured enough was enough and they'd finally go far.
