Don`t these things come in threes?
Just kidding...

moeman said...

L Dude knows.

Plus, Green Riders fans are just as bad as Bs fans but no where near as obnoxious as leaf fans.

Go Sabres.

@TMS - you're welcome. 1 Grey Cup, wrapped up with a pretty green bow. I'm still drowning my sorrows.

Official Saskatchewan Ministry of Education response to the Grey Cup game

REGINA, Nov. 29 /BONE/ - Hon. Ken Krawetz (MLA Canora-Pelly), Deputy Premier of Saskatchewan, Minister of Education of Saskatchewan and Teacher's Superannuation Commission, has implemented a change to the provincial education curriculum effective immediately.

"As seen in the 2009 Grey Cup, there appears to be a problem for members of Saskatchewan society to count to thirteen. As this has caused tremendous embarrassment to the Province of Saskatchewan, its people and to this government and ministry, I am implementing a change to the mathematics curriculum effective immediately. Prior education methods which promoted the teaching of numbers in factors of ten - that is ten, one hundred, one thousand, etcetera will be discontinued. Instead, a teaching of numbers focusing on thirteen is to be immediately implemented - that is thirteen, one hundred sixty-nine, two thousand ninety-seven, etcetera.

While our opposition may state that this is a simply a reaction due to out of province factors and that they have been keeping a log of the rhythm and emotion of fans, it is our belief that it was a solution that was quickly and easily implementable. A change to teach grade one to six students how to count the number of Roughrider Grey Cup victories by using the square root of negative one was deemed too difficult and not an effective usage of teaching resources across the province."

Oooh, but the Green Army must be feeling like shee-it this morning. heh.

Excellent use of "!!!11111111!"

moeman said...

@lg77, are you suggesting that Rider Nation is green with envy or feeling green or both? Cue Kermit ...

Not Geoff Molson said...

LG77 - *bows* -> you're welcome.

The Wheaties' fans have likely pilloried their potties with pilsner puke this morning.

Next time I'm in Montreal, I'll order a "Riders' Dozen" worth of bagels at Fairmount or St-Viateur.

Saw this one at the G&M this AM. To show our Green friends that we still love 'em and we're all one big happy family (except leaf fans);

"An American tourist and his wife passed a highway sign that read S A S K A T C H E W A N. He asked his wife, "How do you pronounce a name like that.."
She shrugged, "don"t no". At the nearest coffee shop he aske the girl behind the counter, "How do you pronounce the name of this place.
She said Tiim Hoorrttinnns."

WV = wworsh, as in the reffin' in the NHL is wworsh than the CFL but it close

moeman said...

+1 for NGM for post #13

lawyergirl77 said...

NGM - Riders' Dozen??!! Awesome!! I'm with moe - +1 for that line

The phrase "Riders' Dozen" will be immediately implemented into my vocabulary. Well done.

they are trying to select best blogs and FHF is in the running !!!!
this is the blog equivalent of the all-star voting.

Can't take credit for coming up with the "Rider's Dozen" - saw it last night as a comment on a Calgary Herald article. So +1 to some random Calgarian (Panger?!).

Q: What do you call someone with too many items in the express check-out line?
A: A Saskatchewan Roughriders fan.

David Wilkie's Ghost said...

If it's the blog equivalent of all-star voting, does that mean we should stuff the ballots and then tank for the second half of the season?

The **** who wrote this flaming piece of shit deserves to get kicked in the nuts repeatedly.

Yeah, way to criticize Saturday night's effort considering we clawed our way back from being down 2-0 (not blowing a 2-0 lead, contrary to what the author says) and have half a team of AHLers.

Also, I can understand Gomez and Gill as bad signings (it's a bit early, still) but Gio? Are you fucking kidding me?

L Dude said...

kevin: I wouldn't get too upset about the ramblings of a unknowledgeable hack like that guy. Just perused his stuff a bit. Seriously, don't sweat it.

Lovin the "Rider's Dozen". Pretty sure nobody in the Maritimes would get it though if I were to order it in a bakery.

And the 13th man dork that moe posted! Is that irony? I should call....fuck what's her name - long black hair, singer from Montreal I think "Isn't it ironic?" Speaking of which, is it ironic that her examples weren't actually irony? Fuck, what's her name? Morisette! Hah, yes! I think I'm friggin' brain dead.

Hey, movin' on. You guys hear about the new project the guys from the Trailer Park Boys are doing on Showcase? The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour. Sounds awesome!

I'm so stoked. Too bad it's still a year away.

KC - and anyone who actually reads Mike's stuff knows that he is not a blind "rah rah sis boom bah" booster.

And his "About Last Night" after that game was bang on about the context in which we got that point.

*sigh*

Lemme know if you go on a nut-kicking expedition...

lawyergirl77 said...

^^ Note that I didn't take exception with that blogger's characterization of the Gill signing as a bust. Jury is still out on Gomez, and KC is totally right that Gio was a great signing.

moeman said...

The Gaz says, Le Mexicain (hey, il parle Français mes maudits ami(e)s) and Dags are in for the tilt with the hated leaf+Dou$harek.

"Gomez is at centre on the second line with Max Pacioretty and Travis Moen. That's a vote of confidence for Tomas Plekanec, who remains between Mike Cammalleri and Sergei Kostitsyn.

D'Agostini looks like a go Tuesday night on a line with Glen Metropolit at centre and Kyle Chipchura on the left wing.

The other line has Maxim Lapierre between Tom Pyatt and Ryan White"

WV = gashion, as in Vodkov's gashion on his foot will be healed for the New Year, pop the bubbly!

moeman said...

Oh oh.

Chenny13 said...

@Moeman:

Well, the Roughriders are widely considered "Canada's Team" too, and look how well that worked out for them. Actually, maybe that explains our penchant for Too Many Men penalties and having 7 skaters on the ice in the end of a game.

lawyergirl77 said...

If the prerequisite for being Canada's team is an inability to count... then what does that say about our education standards???

Unknown said...

Kind words and nut-kicks (wasn't that the title of an Alec Guiness movie?) most appreciated. But I really have to start cultivating a better class of critic than some shit-stain who can't read a game summary.

moeman said...

Our beloved and trusted GM Bob says on tsn's That's Leaf Hockey, that our Habs will make the playoffs, that he (smirkingly) wishes the CotU's team to make the playoffs and that Friday's game vs. our true rival, the Bs, is 2 hours long. Methinks we'll be drunk by drop the fucking puck time. Go you fucking Habs! Bruins suck and the leaf sucks even harder.

moeman said...

Watching some Habs history on rds (before the Saints beat the Pats) and the footage is simply spine-tingling, except images of the ugly blotched face of bertrand raymond, a journalistic slug if there ever was one. Methinks had the internet started a couple of decades earlier, a leech like bertrand would've been salted away much sooner in his despicable 'career'. What a wound on hockey coverage that slug was. Incredible that he still has presence to this day. Lucky for him pure wool mouthbreathers are sought-after for their bile.

Ovie was just involved in a knee-on-knee collision with Gleason... Both were injured in the process but Ovie got a 5 minute penalty and a game misconduct...Wonder how many games he`ll be suspended for? Oh wait, he doesn`t have a history... :P

@moeman: Jebus.. If phrases like "Rider's Dozen" become commonplace around here, I might just stay away until the next centennial. Ouch.

Enjoy your cup, Montrealers. Your Team Of Destiny is about to dissolve into senescence.
