Haha, Tutu Joe. Trust me, it was funny in my head when I was drunk.
Lots of preview/review posts over the next few days, so we'll keep this one simple:
The Good: TFS(tm). Good start, anyway - although Halak will likely get (and certainly deserves) the start against the Kings. Price seems poised to step up and steal the starting job back if given the chance. Showed that the Goat may have known what he was talking about when he said the Habs needed both Price and Halak. Pleks was unusually ornery facing off against Tutu Joe and Traitor, umm, I mean Heater. The Tits seemed to perk up at the end there. And they didn't get blown out.
The Bad: Price was the only reason this wasn't a blowout. As soon as Nabokov realized these weren't olympic snipers shooting on him, he settled down and made some good saves to give the Sharks the chance to win. Unlike in Vancouver, sucka! (Yes, I will be milking the Gold Medal win for a while. Get used to it.)
The Ugly: "Jumbo" Joe freaking Thornton. More like Tutu Joe! (pause for uncontrollable and spontaneous ROTFLOL...No? Let's move on). At the recent FHF summit I enjoyed ripping him for his inability to step up in big games - but of course he scored again the Germans. Ooooouuu, it's the Germans. Big deal. Where was he against the Americans? In third or fourth gear, of course. Look, he played okay in the Gold Medal win (suck it, Colbert!), but there's no fifth gear with Tutu Joe, no sirree. I hate to give the Bruins credit (do forgive me, 10), but in retrospect they were bang-on with this guy. Tutu Joe will not lead a team to a championship. He may play a supporting role, but not lead. And that's not enough for a $6.7M player with his skills and abilities.
And yes, Sharks fans, I admit that I am ripping the best player on a first place team, while we Habs fans will be lucky to see our team make the playoffs. I actually would love to see the Sharks win a Cup, I just don't think Tutu Joe is the guy to get them there.
Are you a Jumbo or a Tutu? Let us know in the comments. Prove me wrong, Joe!
