The Morning Skate does a little housekeeping for Wednesday, August 12th

Oh, heya! Another yawnsville off-season morning has us contemplative, no doubt like Roger Federer wondering WTF is going on. There are a couple of non-tennis items this morning, notably the next twist in the Phoenix situation, some deal between Reinsdorf and the Yotes principle creditor. No doubt engineered by one G. Bettman. No wait, that's too obvious, let's call him Gary B. Zherdev may be off to Russia. That's about it.

So we've done a little housekeeping around here. Did ya notice? No, of course not, you're all too brain-dead from staring at that stupid clock on the right. Anyway, if you scroll down that right side, somewhere near the three chicks in the Kings jerseys kissing, you'll see we finally did some work updating our blogroll. Man, some of those links were old and dead. We cleaned them up and got them in some kind of order. Check them out, you may find some new reading material to entertain you in the off-season. Especially the non-hockey links, that's basically what we read every day.

If you are a blogger and we missed you, sorry about that. Hit us up in the comments or by email and we'll see what we can do. Special shout-out to the "friends of FHF" section, those bloggers who have been with us from the early days (more than 2 years now! that's like drinking age in blog years) or been involved with us in some sort of sexually-euphemistic blogging contest. So if you are merely an FHF "acquaintance", you now know a three-way is the way to move up.

The Morning Skate for Wednesday, December 10th

Bullet points for what you missed while having nightmares of being an Illinois Governor...
  • This whole Kovy-Lang thing may work out even if Kovy never scores again - Gang Bang had 2G 1A and Kovy two helpers as the Habs beat the Flames 4-1. Dagger continues to make us love him (4G in his last 4GP!) and Jaro deserves some credit too. And the HF29 jinx is proven to be bogus. Unfortunately, get ready for 30+ minutes per game of Breezer 'cause El Dandy broke his arm. More later today;
  • Flyers win 4-3 over the Isles, clusterfuck developing in the Atlantic division;
  • The Mullet rips into the team that fired him, fails to admit he sucks as a coach.
Blog you probably aren't reading but should be
FHF regular commentor Grrreg gives his take on the Habs from the other side of the pond at The Soft European. His front page currently features a Lanny vs. Larry mustache off, some freaky Olympic mascots, Miss France coverage and a Led Zep photo. All of it done cleverly in two languages. Pierre Trudeau would be proud.

TMS wakes up to some sloppy seconds for Wednesday, December 3rd

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of TMS finding a lame excuse to post hot chicks...
  • Habs try desperately to lose in one really bad minute but end up winning, 5-4 over the lowly Thrashers. Big Tits had a 3-point night and Matt "The Dagger" D'Agostini (we're working on it) looked more at home than Gui! ever did getting in front of the net for his first NHL goal. More later today;
  • The NHL suspends Sean Avery indefinitely for his "sloppy seconds" comment about the lovely Ms. Cuthbert and Dion Phaneuf, so he didn't play in the Stars' 3-1 win over the Flames. Damn we were hoping to see Phaneuf try to kill the douchebag, and we're thinking he's done alot worse things to get suspended;
  • Ron Wilson's return to San Jose doesn't go to well as the Leafs fall to the Sharks 5-2;
  • Flyers ride the force of their old-school orange jerseys to a 4-3 OT win over the Lightning.
Blog you may not be reading but should be
If you haven't yet checked out FHF regular commentor Copyranter's Habs Fan in NYC, do it now. He hates stuff, which is obviously right up TMS' alley.

The Morning Skate for Monday, November 17th

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of living in Burlington, Vermont...
Blog you may not be reading but should be
If you're like TMS and go out of your way to avoid all things Maple Leafs, you're missing teh funneh over at He Score, He Shoot! When a Leafs blog has a poll like "Who or what will Ryan Hollweg next hit from behind?", you know they don't take things too seriously.

The Morning Skate for Friday, November 14th

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of spending your vacation time on the new planets...
Blog You Probably Aren't Reading But Should Be
In an attempt to get the crappy taste out of our mouths, we're introducing a new semi-recurring feature here at TMS Central. TMS should be more than just snark and TSN links. So we're giving a shout out to some lesser known blogs (well, to us at least) we've come across we think are good, in hockey and even beyond. They're TMS approved!

Today, we present to you The Notwithstanding Clause, from FHF regular commentor Number31. Clever little witticisms about the Habs. As a bonus, she already has her game review from last night up! Sample:

"I have a message for our defense: pylons are usually orange."
