- The NHL suspends Sean Avery indefinitely for his "sloppy seconds" comment about the lovely Ms. Cuthbert and Dion Phaneuf, so he didn't play in the Stars' 3-1 win over the Flames. Damn we were hoping to see Phaneuf try to kill the douchebag, and we're thinking he's done alot worse things to get suspended;
- Ron Wilson's return to San Jose doesn't go to well as the Leafs fall to the Sharks 5-2;
- Flyers ride the force of their old-school orange jerseys to a 4-3 OT win over the Lightning.

He's done a lot worse, but this time he actually called the cameras over and gave what amounted to a prepared statement. I'm guessing the NHL frowns upon premeditated taunting re: former sexual conquests.
Apparently, he was also referring to Shawn Horcoff and Rachel Hunter.
I don't think the taunting was the issue, but rather the insult to the women in question. If he'd called them "my ex-girlfriends" it would have been just another jerk-off comment by El Douchebag. But calling them "Sloppy Seconds" crosses a line.

If Elisha hadn't spent that torrid weekend in Vegas with Gary Bettman last winter, Avery would have played last night.
The real shock in this story for me is that Dallas are paying Avery $4M per year.

Rumour has it that Avery will get a serious suspension.
Last time he saw Bettman (which was over the Jason Blake tirade), he was told that if he shows up at the league office for any non-hockey related offense, he'd incur a stiff penalty from the league.
Guess we'll find out soon enough?

As for Avery, trash-talk crosses the line when you use such a vile and disgusting pair of words to describe a woman as 'sloppy seconds'. $4M?!?! My buddy thought it was $2.5M and I thought it was $3.5. I hope Hicks stops bringing this kind of financial management to Liverpool soon.
Avery also got a warning after he unleashed a torrent of profanities at a fan's female companion. It was bad enough that the couple complained directly to the NHL.
He'll get hit hard this time.
