St. Mike's coach Dave Cameron has lost the World Junior Championship, OHL Championship, and Memorial Cup Final in the span of five months. Fuck me. Did he move into a house over a native burial ground last fall?

Steve said...

@10, he is polishing his resume, he wants Ron Wilsons job.

The leaf lovers at sportsnet laughed off that Cameron can continue his losing streak in Ottawa. 1967 rulz.

Wow, I'm worn out from reading about my Sea Dogs winning the Memorial Cup. Fuck Mastercard, I'm not saying that word in front of it.

It's a great day for Saint John and the Maritime provinces in general today. The Sportnet guys say the QMJHL should stand for Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League instead of Major. I concur.
We have six good franchises down here, well, Bathurst is a little sketchy, still. Rumours say there could be another with Lewiston, Maine moving to Summerside PEI.

I don't know if any FourHabsFans watched the game but you have got to love Jonathan Huberdeau and what he brings to the table. Too bad he will play his career in one of Bettman's sinkhole franchises in the South unless the Goat can perform a miracle. I'd give up a lot to get this guy in a Habs uniform.

@HF10, I feel bad for Dave Cameron. I wish he had better luck at the WJC and in the OHL final. Not last night though. Still, success at the Junior level doesn't always translate at the NHL level. Ask Craig Hartsburg.

@Maritimer, I take joy in your celebration.

Congratulations Maritimer

That was an incredible victory by your Seadogs. I hope for once Cherry does mention them on Couch's Corner but he will probably congratulate the last place team from the OHL.

I downgraded to a 15 pack of tickets last year (not because the (Mooseheads were doing poorly but because it is hard to get to a lot of the weekday games - I still end up going to about 20 games.) I will definitely be at the Metro Centre for all the Seadog games this coming year. I will boo the Seadogs but right now I am happy for them.

Thanks Soperman! I don't have season tickets or buy the packs, although I should look into that. I generally go on Friday night games. Hope your Mooseheads are better in the coming season. I always try to go when they are in town.

It was really sweet for them to win, especially after Moncton (ptewww!!) shit the bed in last year's tournament. They should be just as good if not better next year. Can't say the same for Shawinigan...

Since I don't watch Crotch's Corner anymore you'll have to tell me if he mentions Saint John although I highly doubt it and if he does it will be negative. After all he lives in Mississauga.

moeman said...

Congrats Chien de la Mer.

Ol' stinkin' Crotch went out of his way to mention that Kootenay had 100% Canadians on their team. The Q's Sea Dogs is made of Francos and Euros and Canadians. 2 of those 3 are bad according to the xenophobe.

I like Jurco. Wonder if the Habs can nab him...

Yay Dev Camp #1! Boo I'm working!

im watching Oilers-PHucktards 1985 Finals on ESPN Classic. so many comments to make:

1. the broadcast is sponsored by Carling O'Keefe
2. i dont remember these Flyers at all. their star seems to be Peter Zezel. why are they in the Finals?
3. how the hell is Ron Reusch the colour guy?

the Maritimer said...

@moeman, 12 Maritimers on the Sea Dogs. 7 Quebecois, 2 Europeans, 1 Westerner and 1 Ontarian. Yeah, the old Crotch won't give any props to Saint John. I like the fact there is lots of local flavour on this team.

@Number31, Jurco is a very skilled player and ranked #20 well within Montreal's range.

I would like to pose a fantasy trade to you guys. Jonathan Huberdeau will possibly be the best francophone player to come out of the Q since Vincent Lecavalier. He's not as big or powerful as Vinnie. I would compare him skillwise and sizewise with Jonathan Toews who was picked 3rd overall about where Huberdeau is projected to go. Should the Goat go for it and try to trade up in the draft to get him?

Price and Subban are off the table. Could he give up say, Pleks, Gorges and the 17 pick to Florida for JH? Sets the Habs back for a year or two. Is it worth it for a projected franchise player? Or do they stand pat?

moeman said...

@ the M., there is no way Huberdeau becomes a Habs pick. Habs pay to help loser bettman teams stay afloat and lose out on opportunities. Time for Geoff to tell bettman to fuck off and stop paying the loser teams to breathe. What will flying monkey Gary do? Get rid of the Habs? Time to muscle that fuckface and stand up for the CH. Disgusting teams like the broons have their way with rules, regulations and attempts to maim/kill players like Patches. The mediots that suck campbell's collie cock and bow to the little commish are complicit. Geoff, wake the fuck up! You are paying to keep lame teams alive whilst Jacobs anal rapes you as bettman pounds his pud in glee. His only ounce of jizz he has is for U$ teams. Put a stop to it! PunCH him in the face, cock, ass and drop the fucker.

Number31 said...

No. I wouldn't do that trade. Settle with Jurco. Two Tomases is better than one! (And way better than none).

the Maritimer said...

@moeman, I hear you! Little Napoleon wants parity, so great players can play in obscurity in US markets where high school football rules. Oh well, I can dream.

@Number31, OK, Thomas Jurco it is. I won't quibble. Zack Phillips might even fall to them. It would be nice to have a Habs prospect on the Saint John team.
