Our oldies and rookies, broken and frozen, out of gas and underachieving players gave more than Team Orange. How about them goaltenders, Holmgren?

Alright Habs South. Don't let me down now. Go Coach Le Chiffre!

I object to the reference of the Phlyers as "Team Orange".

Just thought I'd pop in to say this:

FUCKING FLYERS.

Also, I'm clueless as to who to cheer for now. Obviously, I can't stand the Bruins but I'm not too fond of the Lightning either. Maybe it's cause they tanked to win (although that doesn't stop me from having a crush on the Hawks), maybe it's cause they took Guy Boucher from us and were never going to hear the end of it from RDS or maybe it's Lecavalier's arrogance... but you get the point. So...

Go Western Conference!

Go Nucks.

toronto sucks;

"The Memorial Cup is coming to the so-called centre of the hockey universe and all indications are this event is in some trouble.

Staff from both the Ottawa Senators and the Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors — two teams owned by Eugene Melnyk — have been desperately working the phones of late trying to offer up discounted and single-game tickets, for the Canadian junior hockey championship.

This isn’t usually how it works with the Memorial Cup in most junior hockey markets. It’s normally a slam-dunk sellout, package-deal kind of event. Just not here in the supposed centre of the hockey universe, which isn’t really the centre of much of anything besides Leafs Nation.

This is Maple Leafs country and the tough sell the Majors are having is indication once again that the Greater Toronto Area is a terrific NHL market, but just an average hockey town for everything else.

The two junior teams closest to downtown don’t draw particularly well. The AHL Marlies play to more open seats than those sold. The Majors, who have been the best team in junior hockey all year long under coach Dave Cameron, are pretty much treated like an afterthought. Which is wrong.

The Memorial Cup is a terrific event — even if it’s been overpriced this year by Melnyk and friends. It was Sidney Crosby and Mario Lemieux’s last step before the NHL. It deserves sellouts. It deserves attention. Hopefully, between now and the start of the tournament on May 20, people start buying in."
