The Morning Skate for Tuesday, June 22nd

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of your new iPhone OS...
  • Ugh. Habs will open their home season October 13th against Guy Boucher and the Bolts. That's just cruel. Season opens October 7th in Tronna;
  • Hall of Fame announcement comes down today. If Lindros gets in, we imagine a few arguments around here;
  • TSN has its final pre-draft rankings out;
  • The Bruins will try to bring peace to Northern Ireland;
  • Jason Spezza "wouldn't object" to a trade form the Sens, whatever that means;
  • NHL.com looks at goalies who could be on the move on July 1. Bring back Jose for backup!
  • Our most recent True Blood recap is up over at the other place of business.
Is it starting to get maybe just a bit busier, news-wise? Maybe?

Quotes;

“I know the Toronto one is ... because of the Burke connection,” the 35-goal Ryan told the Orange County Register.
”I’d be very surprised if I were moved before I signed or before July 1. “If I were traded, I know there’s places I’d like
to go and places I wouldn’t like to go. That’s something that is still out of my hands.
But if someone e-mails me another Toronto article, I’m going to lose it.

The Goat will pick Jaden Schwarz with the Habs 1st round pick. A great German sounding name.

As frustrating as the Habs are, imagine what it must feel like to be a Sens fan. First Heatley wanted out, then Kovalev reluctantly replaced him (while crying about leaving Montreal) and now Spezza wants out. It's almost enough to make you feel bad for them.

Nathan Horton and Greg Campbell to the Bruins for Dennis Wideman and the 15th overall pick. Hmm.

Jesus Christ, I'm so fucking glad Darche has resigned for next season. I was so worried we'd lose him.

Seriously, of all the UFA and RFA players he needs to worry about, PG re-ups fucking Darche first? WTF?

Who's next? Mara? Metro? MAB?

Is $5 million a year a little too high? Methinks so, but it's nice to finally keep a free agent.

@moemen, the first flasher in the Hall, and he was not even a Leaf. Gilmour should have gone first

No fecking woman in the hall of fame, thats bullshit, the best girls could not beat an average midget team, thats not hall of fame, thats political correctness gone wild. If they want a pussy hall of fame, well call tiger woods for recommendations.

Gilmour has to tell his kids "I was beat by a woman, like a rented mule"
