George The Rack Is Back

Somewhere, Zdeno "Count Chocula" Chara just peed himself a little.

Georges Laraque, the undisputed NHL heavyweight over the past several seasons, just signed with the Habs for $4.5M over 3 years. A very acceptable price to pay to give Saks and AK27 a little more room in the corners and in front of the net.

What's even better is that Georges has his own website, and when he played for Edmonton had a very popular radio show. Let's hope he gets on 110% and kicks some ignorant, self-obsessed ass.

Plus, if Leafs fans think it's possible Grabs will score 30 goals for them, we can say Georges will do the same for Montreal, right? OK, at least if Georges pastes Grabs boney, under-muscled ass thought the boards next season, he'll have earned a place in the hearts of Habs' faithful.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

The signing for me is really good for one thing - it will keep DOOM out of the penalty box. How often did he have to defend others last year?? Now Lracque can do it.

Greek Lightning LOVES this signing, since it will save him from a bunch of beatings.

I kinda like it too. He's relatively cheap, and Laraque is not Chris Simon, he can actually play hockey. And he seems to be a nice guy in the locker room. (please note that I have never actually been even close to a nhl locker room, and that I have absolutely nothing to back this claim)

He should be a better fit than Grabs on the fourth line.

On top of it he could show Guimauve a thing or two about hair do.

And apparently Marc Denis in goal. I'm happy with these deals. Nothing earth shattering, but will lift everyone's play a bit.

Le GG (as he's known affectionately in the Oilogosphere) can certainly punch dudes in the face, and is certainly a great community/locker room guy. And now he can do it in his native language, to boot.

But $1.5M? Geez, that seems like a bit much. Unless Bob really thinks he's got a third-liner in him still.
