Mike Boone over at Habs I/O (btw since Boone has been the only one writing over there lately, it doesn't totally suck any more) breaks down the Eklund crap about the Habs and Sundin. It strongly suggests Sundin is coming here. By Monday.Yeah, whatever Eklund. But at least you gave me an excuse to post a Swedish babe with "NASTY" tattooed on her in a cool place.

While I foolishly hope it's true...I also hope, that if there is some truth in there, that no major sports outlets pick up on this rumour and run with it like they did the Vancouver one. Right now I picture Sundin as a timid fawn in the wood, scared off by even the slightest noise.

I usually like Boone (I really like his live blogging of the games), but these days, I really can't stand their website. A new article everyday to say how cool that would be if Sundin agreed to come to Montreal. Yes, well, we all know that. Enough is enough, Boone should just stop posting this kind of stuff until something actually happens.
Maybe I'm too cynical but I look at it this way: Vancouver's offer is worth $4m more over the two-year contract. After taxes that's $2m in the bank. Sundin is a Swedish patriot. He captained his national team to gold at the Olympics, which is probably the most important thing he could do in his career. A Stanley Cup would be great, but you balance that on the one hand and the fact he's bagged the Olympic gold and stands to make an extra couple of million...Sure, Gainey or whoever was right--he's saved a bundle in his career but it's still a couple of million. At the end of the day, 90% of players follow the money. Maybe Sundin is different. Guess we'll know soon.
