The Morning Skate changes things up for Thursday, May 7th

Yo, what up mothafuckas? TMS has decided that every now and then, he'll be dropping the bullet points in favour of some witty banter. Well, if this shit can be considered witty. OT mania last night! Too bad we were watching Lost and missed all of it. Kris Letang is the frakking OT hero as the Pens win their must-win game, 3-2. Malkin de-zombified, but Varlamaov was dominant in a game the Pens should have won much earlier. Bruins are down 2-1 after Jussi Jokinen is the hero in the Canes' 3-2 OT win. What is Carolina doing that the Habs couldn't? That may be rhetorical. Your last TSN link of the morning has Big Fat Bob Mackenzie trying to explain the Silly Balls situation. The only reason we bring this up is because it opens with this gem:

"Do you know why I went to journalism school?
Because I was too dumb to become a lawyer or an accountant"

You zinged yourself Bob! Well done. Happy Thursday everyone, enjoy Canada-Latvia. Latvian fans rule.

The thing that Carolina is doing that we could not is Eric Stall not Saku Koivu

Also, Cam Ward and not Carey Price.

Word verif: smicardi
"If the B's continue drinking dozens of smicardi and cokes before the opening faceoff, the NHL will remove them from the playoffs and insert the Habs."

Have I missed Cornelius's daily "If the Habs were in the second round ..." message?

They are so amusing those messages.

Cornelius buddy. Are you still here?

The Canes have a Jokinen.
The Habs failed to pick up a Jokinen at the deadline.

The Flames' Jokinen didn't help them and now they have a 26M cap hit for 4 players.

Extra joy in the Bruins' loss: Chara was the goat on the OT goal.

After watching game three of the BosCar series I realised that I watch games differently when the Habs are not playing. Instead of urging them on each time a Hab touched the puck I was sitting back and letting the play happen. I don't thnk there was a stoppage for the first 10 minutes of the third period - and it had all the things we lacked - fast, accurate passes, good clean hits, no bullshit penalties being called, good goaltending at both ends - in short - 2 teams playing as teams - the result - a very good game - and to top it off the B's lost - so I left the pub a happy man!

PS...read Big Bob's story on Silly Balls - Please can FHF take out a hit on Buttman - this man is scum and should die right now!! He hates hockey and Canada and must be stopped. He probably hated the BosCar game 'cause there weren't 11 goals scored by each side. He was a shit basketball guy who should have stayed whee he was...but I digress

owrd verif: hysmen - isn't this the trophy they give college football players?

Canes/Bruins is messing with my head. I despise the Canes during the regular season, but I despise the Bruins even more at the moment, and I have Eric motherfucking Staal (who I also usually hate during the regular season) in a playoff pool. So...go Canes. FML.

word verif: unwrathe.
As in I will have to remove my wrath from the Canes if they manage to oust Boston in this series.

Would the new canadian team be in the western or eastern conference. If in the east, what team would move west?

Half of this article on Crawford is about wether or not he can speak french and basically tracing his french roots.

@gillis - that's all they care about. hockey knowledge be damned

29 - Marc Crawford as head coach of the Montreal Canadiens may be the thing that keeps me from renewing my seasons tickets.

Lost-related question for HF29:

Do you think it's possible that Christian Shepard (Jack's father) could be Jacob? I can't help but get that feeling...

Go 'Nucks! Go Bobby Lou!

Who the fuck is CHad Larose?!

@holy flannel - i think that Jack's dad as we see him on the island isn't really jack's dad, so to speak. he IS Jacob, but Jacob just takes any form he wants

Never start reading Wikipedia articles about hockey players, it's dangerous.

For example, I just learned that Martin Havlat is a UFA this summer, and that he has an off-season home right here in Montreal.
