At Least We're Not the Leafs

"Now starting at left wing..."

Sure, the Habs had a sucky weekend. Sure, we can't score goals anymore. Sure, our coach has returned to his line juggling ways and his pained facial expressions. But it could be worse. Our front office could be in turmoil, as it appears to be down the 401.

Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun is reporting that John Ferguson, Jr. may be fired as early as today. This comes from Simmons' always-reliable sources and The Toronto Sun, so it must be true.* This on the heels of Simmons reporting last week that JFJ tried to have coach Maurice fired, which JFJ is now denying. Of course, if you are in a fight for your own job, you'll deny anything.

So cheer up everyone, we're not part of Leafs Nation!

*That's irony, for those of you unfamiliar with Simmons or the Toronto Sun. But this is the most believable thing he's ever written.

Would an 8-1 pounding of the Leafs help them out in anyway.

I don't give a shit, but it sure would make my week.

i second that bob

We are so overdue to humiliate the Leafs. 8-1 would be the appropriate level of punishment.

I am enjoying the ongoing debate in the T.O. media as to what is wrong with the Leafs.

How about they play in Toronto for starters?

As long as they wait till after tomorrow nights game to fire JFJ we will win the game, we are due to spank the shit out of them though.

NOOOOOO !!!!

Don't fire JFJ ! He's the best GM for that team if you are NOT a fan of the Leafs!

Keep that bonehead running the Laffs into the ground !!!!

Well, since the Leafs are in such turmoil, I guess it will be extra embarassing when we lose to them tomorrow.
I am going to the game tomorrow, and I pray I am wrong, but we haven't exactly dominated the Leafs this year.

fear the collapse FINALLY someone expresses what I was thinking. we're screwed imho

hey, with all this leafs talk where? PPP? we haven't seen hide nor hair of him in a while.

Fear the Collapse gets it right, sadly. It's going to suck if a win over Price is what gets the TO media to drop this story, because it sure is fun. But I have a very bad feeling here.

On the other hand, we can take consolation if the Leafs do win: maybe Bryan's wish will come true, and JFJ will stay around and keep sucking. That can only be a good thing.

Maybe PPP is measuring bridges for maximum height and splatterability.

Some in the Toronto media seems to think the solution is to poach as much of the Detroit front office as possible.

Naw, if I go I'll try to find a way to take as many Habs fans with me as possible ;)

Plus they blocked the Bloor Viaduct so the best option is gone.

Best case scenario:

A win teamed with a JFJ contract extension.

I think we need to aim for an undeserved win in regulation in which the Leafs look the better over 55 minutes. it'll be tough, but we managed it last time out.

The full points and saving an incompetent GM's job. Much sweeter than 8-1. We should save that one for nailing shut the access for the Leafs to the playoffs in March (who am I kidding – February).
