The Game Day Skate for Wednesday, November 21st

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of some decent defensive zone coverage...
  • As HF10 pointed out,when your 2 biggest rivals play you root for the building to collapse. It didn't happen, but the Leafs getting beat by a Tuukka Rask making his NHL debut is still pretty sweet;
  • Andrei Markov leads the East defencemen in All-Star voting. He says he's surprised. That makes two of us;
  • Oil get out of the West basement with a win over the Canucks in a SO. Baby steps, baby steps;
  • ESPN.com best / only hockey writer Scott Burnside presents his 1/4 season review - East and West. No mention of the Habs. Under the radar I guess. Or maybe just mediocre.

Habs hit Long Island tonight. Watch out for the traffic on the L.I.E.

I swear, that engineer I bribed told me that was the ACC's load bearing joist. I want my $20 back.

You know, in my sleep-deprived TMS writing this morning, I totally forgot to mention that Rask was a first-round pick of the LEAFS, and was gone in the Raycroft deal. Ah, sweet, sweet, irony.

Do you think the Toronto papers have "Leafs fall to back-up goalie" on AutoText?
