Leafs Nation Needs Resurfacing
Peddie: "Hiring Ferguson was a mistake"

The sopa opera that is the Leafs front office is taking on a new twist today. When the President of Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment says hiring your GM was a mistake, you know you're in trouble.

The question is no longer whether someone will be fired, but who and when. Maurice and JFJ? Tonight? Before or after the Habs tilt? As was discussed extensively in the comments on yesterday's Leafs post, Habs fans know this affects us tonight. We just can't agree how.

It's this turmoil that scares the shit out of me. The leafs can either whither and roll over for us or they can come out blazing and smoke our asses, I'm thinking the latter. It's gonna be an emotional roller coaster tonight for sure, I better take a nap.

The tension is killing me...I need a hypo spray, where's the EMH???

What a perfect opportunity to kick the Buds while they are down - and preside over the firing of the GM (and maybe the coach too).

Knowing your team of fourth liners Price/Huet will be the only thing keeping the Habs in the game until the shootout when the Leafs will lose.

Good enough to calm the papers down but not good enough to win.

It's weird when two sets of fans look at a game and think things will work out better if their team loses.

im not sure how much you can blame the front office for the poor performace from the players, but thats the way of the game. hazards of the job.

What Habs fan is looking at this game and thinking it would be better to lose? Whether JFJ stays or goes, the Leafs aren't contenders, and there isn't a trade they can make to change that this year. We want a curbstomping of the Leafs tonight and don't give a flying fuck what it entails for their front office.

The Leafs blog links in the thread above this one are surprisingly good. It's sad to see their fans so dejected though. The most delusional fans in the world are having a moment of clarity. Hang in there guys. It's nothing that can't be turned around in a decade or so. Start with using your draft picks wisely next season.. oh shit I forgot. Or just stick your head in the oven.
