"Don't be shocked if this team wins it all" - The Sports Network (no, not TSN)

Can you have sex with the Cup if you haven't won it?

So in the absence of our own preview in the near future (it's coming, we swear, as soon as we get a new supply of meth), we'll be taking a critical look this week at what the rest of the interwebs and MSM are saying about Nos Glorieux. Today, internet sports site The Sports Network, which has somehow managed to avoid being sued by TSN.

The Habs preview as written by some dude, is positively glowing. The forwards are great, the D is great, the goaltending is great. The whole thing makes me want to puke ("puke", that's a funny word. Mind if I use that?). It makes us really think that some dude is off his rocker when he writes "keep an eye out for a breakout season from Guillaume Latendresse." Sure, we'll keep an eye out, and we'll go blind waiting.

Pretty soon we'll find a Habs preview that says the Habs totally overachieved last year and are headed for a fall. That'll be some pessimism we can get into.

H I/O reports -yet another- a groin injury for Kovy.

It's not a groin injury, he just had a long night with your mom.

While I'm not waiting for Gui! to have a breakout season, I'm still going blind - for an entirely different reason.

I'd be worried about this year if I was a Hab fan.

9th in the east, mark my words.

@ T.O: I'd worry if I was a Bruins fan, because they suck.

No wait, you have Ryder now.

Everyone is doing some kind of Centennial thing. I think FHF should do a feature entitled "Montreal Canadiens: 100 Years of Whipping Boys".

Someone needs to honour this great Habs tradition.

@terry: Yesterday it was 10th in the East. C'mon, stick to your guns, don't flip flop! Do you want to be known as the John Kerry of the FHF comments?

I'm calling it. Habs 23rd in the East. You read it here first.

@terry: Also, you should say 'Heed' my words, instead of mark. Mark is rather clichéd nowadays.

Heed My Words, lowly denizens of FHF...

It sounds much more prophetic and menacing, don't you think?

Do you like bunnies?

Ok who is in goal? I am trying to watch three games at the same time. The one with the baby Chief gets priority.

Also,

Dear FHF,
You should use Cover it Live. It's pretty nifty.

I fucking hate this preseason already. Mathieu Carle just got clocked - guaranteed concussion. Any bets on the final injury count?

@ fezworth: hey, this keeps up and tomorrow Terry's gonna come back all "Habs 8th, heard it here first." In a week he'll be predicting a top-three finish :-)

@ wrap: It's your boy Carey Motherfucking Price between the pipes tonight.

9th, 10th what's the diff?

I'm not saying the B's will be much better by the way.

But I will make another prediction:

Zdeno to clean Laraque's clock at least once this season.

And Price is the star of the show tonight, peppered by shots from every angle, only let one go on a Detroit PP they somehow got after destroying Carle. But GOD, Habs forwards, SCORE SOMETHING! You're killing me here! (And just as I say that, D'agostini scores, so thank you Dag).

I wish this game was on TV instead of the Leafs/Pens... Hockey Robots got their usual goalie interference penalty. I miss seeing Price throw people out of his crease.

That was a really cheap hit on Carle... I mean sure it's legal, but it's the freaking pre-season, i mean, do you really need to jump and slam your shoulder into a guy's head to stop him? Really?! A plain hard check would've been plenty enough.
