- Only one game mattered yesterday, and Sid the Kid won it in a shootout. Despite the fact you couldn't stickhandle, make moves, or pass the puck, it was a great hockey game;
- Only one game mattered in Toronto yesterday, and the Leafs won it 4-3 in a shootout. Some dude named Scott Clemmensen was the Leafs goalie;
- Sergei Samsonov is available! Cheap!
TMS feels good about 2008. We'll re-evaluate after a few games.

Samsonov is ridiculous. He has the potential to be a good player, but he is so busy whining that he doesnt have time to play hockey.
shmee he's been riding his potential for his whole career practically. as we Habs fans know!
I was at Winter Classic on the field....there's something about walking down a runway into a football stadium and seeing a rink dwarfed by a swarm of humanity.....snow flying everywhere...
You think "Damn they should play every game like this...."
Only think better at the Heritage Classic was having the jets do a fly-by right before puck drop in Edmonton...nearly shit my shorts...
It was a fantastic spectacle.
I'd love to see one in the Big House at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor (currently about 110,000 capacity, but they are remodeling to add more luxury boxes) between Detroit and Montreal, preceded by University of Michigan vs. Michigan State college hockey, and maybe even preceded before that by the US juniors vs. Canada juniors for a triple header (since the US development program is based in Ann Arbor).
Probably way, WAY to complicated to pull off, but to see over 100, 000 fans packing a stadium for a series of three hockey games? Wow.
I don't smoke, but I might need a cigarette after that much hockey. :)
