The Morning Skate for Thursday, May 1st

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of Happy May Day Comrades!
  • Fuck that positive shit, Habs now down 3-1 after a 4-2 loss. Oh sure, we made it exciting for a few minutes in the 3rd period, but on the other hand, Bégin is a fucktard. Or the officials are for calling it. I'll let you decide. More later today;
  • Carbo is up for coach of the year, so he can cling to that on the golf course next week;
  • Sharks avoid the series sweep with a 2-1 win over the little Fuckity-Fuck.

Bring on Yann Danis!

May Day!

I miss the "dance à dix" line.

On the positive side, the "Breezerpalooza" theory is out the window.

Yann Danis? At this point I'd be ready to throw in the entire AHL bus squad the Habs brought up, apparently just to use up valuable oxygen.

Man, not even a Jaro blog would make me feel better today.

You know the worst part? Well, at least another bad part? On CBC they showed the Flyers walking in the hallway off the ice right after the game. They were laughing and congradulating each other. Really? You gave up a 2 goal lead in less than a minute late in the game and needed a (I still say) close call penalty to win it. You've been badly outplayed the whole series and your goalie is pretty much stealing the games for you. Shouldn't you have some humility? Some reflection?

I think they're ripe for the picking with their attitude. When you play like you deserve to win, often times you end up disappointed. I think Philly is getting a little too comfortable now. They've given up so many leads with their cockiness. Montreal might not win the whole thing, but I predict Game 5 will show everyone's true colours.

I hope.

Time to put the Flyers in their place. C'mon I wanna see Bobby Clarke cry.

For some reason, I'd like to see Chips play as well.

I'd love to see Chips play too, as well as Stewie. Skill isn't working, but maybe grit & hard work will.

I don't know. In the first round, when they tried to play the Bruins game (grit and hard work over skills), they lost. They won the 7th game by playing with their speed.

The Habs have been really outplaying the Flyers the whole series, but who cares? It's a 3-1 deficit right now.

Price is gonna be a special player in this league, but to expect a 20 y/o to dominate in the NHL Playoffs is short-sighted even IF the alleged deal to bring in Hossa happened. Gainey hasn't looked this stupid since Boxcar Hospadar was wearing him out during the pregame skate over twenty years ago against the very same franchise.

I hope the remainder of the series is as entertaining as the first four games have been and IF the series ends on the 3rd, you guys behave yourselves much better than you did after winning a series. For Christ's sake, it's the most storied franchis in NHL history and you behave like Detroit's fans winning a Cup.
