Who is Rejecting the Habs Today?
Lots of people may want to buy them, but apparently no one wants to work for them.
First Mats, then Pavel, most recently Alexei, now Francois. Which one of those names doesn't belong? Well, apparently it belongs in Toronto because Brian Burke just hired Francois Allaire to be Toronto's new goaltending coach. Guess Habs fans better get used to hearing that Allaire is going to turn Justin Pogge into a better tender than TFS(tm)...which we'll be hearing at least until Pogge gets into his first exhibition game.
I was only half joking when I said a couple of days ago that yEmelin's (I've seen it spelled both ways so this about covers it) rejection of the Habs cast a pale over Bob's anicipated UFA efforts come July 1st. Well I'm not joking anymore. This team is fucked if even hometown guys don't want to come back home.
p.s. Dave Stubbs: please don't steal our headlines again. It took us all of 15 seconds to come up with.
HF29 UPDATE - If anyone cares, I'll be on CBC Radio today at 3:35 PM. Here's a link to listen live. I'm sure, you know, that no one cares, you know, so carry on.

I am both pleased and saddened to announce that "Who is Rejecting the Habs Today" will be a recurring feature this summer at FHF
Apparently the Leafs aren't qualifying Pogge, making him a free agent. You know, because he's shit.
Is that price on the cover of that book?
Allaire left Anaheim to be closer to his teenage sons, who live in the Montreal suburbs.
I assume this means the Habs snubbed him rather than the reverse.
No no, Boob, Allaire snubbed the Habs. All the cool kids are doing it.
You guys do realize that Burke and Allaire have a prior working relationship, right? It's not shocking that another Anaheim guy quit his job to work for Burke in Toronto. Apparently he's a good boss, and you know they're getting paid well there. This "closer to family" stuff... take it with a grain of salt. People want out of Anaheim right now badly.
that's burke's fat ass the CH will be trying to catch for the next 5 years. the leaf jokes are going to turn into hab jokes if they haven't already.
@ Gillis: That can't be Price. I don't see a puck whistling over his catching hand.
Yes I realize that Burke and Allaire worked together in Anahiem. Allaire also wortked for the Habs for 12 years. It is possibvle the Habs weren't interested, in which case the question is why not? Did they not notice Jonas Hiller's playoffs? If Allaire turns that Gustaffson guy (if he signs with the Leafs) into a superstar I TOLD YOU SO.
We're the new Leafs.
Oh how they will laugh on Hockey Night in Canada.
Ladies and Gentlemen, our new goaltending coach....Bob Gainey!!
29, your going to be on CBC radio? Your famous! I didn't even know there was a cbc radio station.
vw: axinth... sort of sounds like absynth.
3:35 seems to have been a lie. they haven't even called yet. any minute now
sorry guys, that was ridiculously short
Tanguay has stated that no one has called from Habsland to even say hello. Well fuck me, there better be some news about UFA's next week after the playoffs are over.
I have a bad feeling about the leafs. Fuck.
Interesting tidbit on the G&M website, for those so inclined...

Also, HF29, remember what I said last time you went on the radio. You owe me commission. What was your appearance fee? Pay up, slacker.
29 that was fuckin short. But you didnt say "you know" which was nice.
So much Leafs talk today. Loving it. Don't you guys and gals ever change.
At least you didn't get stuck with Crawford as a coach - he gets to run Dallas further into the ground.
What Montreal should do is get the Rosetta Stone program for French - and give it to Dave Tippett. He's a very, very good coach who got fired because the front office screwed up his team and his goaltender decided to periodically suck the chrome off a trailer hitch for no real reason. He's smart, level-headed, doesn't throw players under the bus ... Montreal shoudl really think about him, French or no French. He'd have the entire summer to learn to say "take it one game at a time" and "accountability" and "defensively responsible" in French, and what more does a coach really need to say? :)
@eyebleaf
Talk is all you've got.
Did Dallas also have a bilingualism clause for their next coach?
