The Carey Price era begins.
While the FHF did anticipate the great hope starting the season in Hamilton, it seems Gainey convinced Carbonneau that Price would be better off backing up Cristobal Huet. The Canadiens are trusting that whatever the capacity in which they choose to play him, his time is now.
In another surprising move, Max Lapierre is still a Bulldog. Coach Carbo is clearly telling the kid that while he performed well in a Habs uniform last year, he hasn't proven anything yet and cannot play as if a roster spot should be taken for granted. This is a punishment, a severe one at that, but he'll be back.
