The Weekend Open Thread of Love is going in for a medical exam today

Top 'o the morning lads and lasses! Can you fucking believe it? Hockey (sort of) starts today with all players reporting to camp for physicals and conditioning testing. Here's the full list of all 54 players who will be in camp, in handy PDF format. The fucking puck finally fucking drops in less than 3 weeks! Pinch me.

In other important Habs news, individual tickets go on sale today at noon. Tell TWOTOL what kind of experience you're having, no doubt the system will crash as usual. Around the league, the hearings are over in Phoenix-palooza, but Judge Baum is holding off on making any decision. I'm sure one will come by the time the playoffs start.

Of course, this is TWOTOL, so anything is up for discussion. Like, ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL???? Oh yeah, I love you NFL. Even though I'm already in last place in my pool. Big USC-OSU college matchup tonight. Als also have a game tomorrow. US Open hits its final weekend, weather permitting. And it's the True Blood season finale tomorrow night. TWOTOL will miss Anna Paquin's tits.

I'm also in the waiting room. Just curious: how long did it take last year to get tickets?

HabsFan29 said...

didn't do it last year but i remember some people were in there for like 4 hours

HabsFan29 said...

"the on-sale has started. please wait for your turn"

i don't like the sound of this

HabsFan29 said...

just got a big "err0" message. that's good, right?

L. Jalbert said...

had the same error message...

didn't feel good

I got the same message. Screw it. I'll just go see the Habs when they come to Ottawa.

HabsFan29 said...

Screw it, I'll just spend the money on meth

ummmmm does having multiple windows open reset your place in line or give you more places in line???

Had the same error 0 that others had. Was in the virtual waiting room for an hour or so, when I decided to go to the first window again. Clicked to re-enter the waiting room and was immediatly transferred to the ticket area. Was the waiting room a place to store people until they re-entered? That wouldn't be the way they control traffic would it. In that case patience is not a virtue but a curse to get bad seats.

Signed up at 11:30, got tix at around 12:30.

Leaf game.

I had the error message too - just click on it and it goes away.

Make sure you have pop-up blocker disabled.

Bah, been in the virtual waiting room since before 12, using 2 different computers and nothing on either. Just tried the trick Sleepy suggested on one of them and am getting a blank screen and the hourglass of doom. Fuck it, I'm going to wind up on stubhub if I feel like making the 6 hour drive on Super Bowl weekend.

Just got Broons tickets too!

well, well. just decided to open a new window and I walked right in. fuck me. got a bunch of "only single seats available crap" for Leafs and Caps, ended up with Pittsburgh on a Thursday night in Molson Ex zone. underage cheerleaders here we come.

whoever is still waiting just try opening new windows

And right after I typed that I tried the trick on the other computer, got right in and got 2 against the Pens on Super Bowl Saturday. Now to try again using the wife's name and a different credit card....

SarahMc33 said...

is there a secret method to opening the new windows? because I have tried opening a TON and i keep getting sent to the stupid waiting room!

Watching Laval crush Bishop's is not even fun.

I had to wait 2 hours before finally being able to purchase tickets and then, when I finally clicked to accept all the conditions, I had a ''sorry, we can't process your order. System key error'' message. I had to call the Bell Centre and someone there sold me tickets for a game v. the Flyers over the phone after making me wait another hour to check if it was okay with her supervisor.

But can't really complain since I did get tickets after all.

Heater traded for Cheechoo

and Michalek.

SJ got the best of that one, but Ottawa had no choice.

I can't wait to see Heatley's reaction to Big Joe's inevitable playoff disappearance.

Boob Gainey said...

I asked for pdf versions of the tickets.

They sent me the wrong ones.

They sent me tickets for a different game (in the Reds no less).

If that happened a lot I there will be chaos.

I was watching Stars/Red Wings game 4 playoffs on NHLN, Modo scored when I got in the waiting room. Stars kicked those red beards' asses right when the tickets finally went on sale. Then I switched to Clear and Present Danger on History. Jack Ryan survives a street attack when the window popped up to tell me to buy my tickets. I now have two shinny tickets in the ceiling for the Stars/Habs game in January. Happy birthday to me. Woo!

crazy sports last night - Serena goes apeshit, USC pulls one out if its ass. but my favourite headlines this morning:

GRETZKY A NO-SHOW AT OPENING OF COYOTES TRAINING CAMP

BWAHAHAHAHA

I like this quote from the Gretzky story, from the Phoenix GM:

"You can understand his position. (If) he comes back in and three days later there's a change in ownership and his contract isn't valid, do they lead him out in handcuffs?"

Why would they need handcuffs?

Boob Gainey said...

Your morning schadenfreude.

From the Rangers training camp:

" Marian Gaborik did not participate in the on-ice sprints due of a tender groin."

HabsFan29 said...

Boob, I literally LOL'd at that.

heh @ waynEgo.

Also, he's suppose to be in 'delicate negotiations', just like when he delicately negociated with the NHL that he wouldn't be checked during a game.
