The Morning Skate for Tuesday, December 23rd

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of becoming a senator...
  • Leafs seem to be able to score more goals than the Habs, take a 6-2 win over the Thrash;
  • Crosby gets a call from the refs and the league in OT (really? you don't say) to lead the Pens to a 4-3 win over the Sabres;
  • Other games happened, but they were out West so they don't count (no offense Van Hab).
Big props to HF4 who came out to the annual holiday party reunion of the boys from our old law firm at Super Sexe last night, despite being stuck in a meeting until 9 PM. That's dedication. PS, I think I had lap dances with more than half of this page.

Quick glance at the link to Supersexe,,,there must be an all you can eat buffet in that joint?

@anon - you know it! pay hundreds of dollars in lap dances, get free food

@29: You realize he's talking about the strippers taking advantage of the buffet right?

All I want for Christmas

I'm not inventive enough to do the whole team, so feel free to add/amend:

Bob Gainey: Forwards who can stand in front of the net and bury the puck. Defenders who can defend.

Carbonneau: A fibre optic sound cable to connect my balls to my voice box so I can actually tell the refs what I think of some of their calls!

Plekanec: BRAINS! (for zombiepleks)

Laraque: A map to the front of the opposing net.

Brisebois: A new stick that doesn't act like a fan half the time. A new walker.

Kovalev: A heart with a consistent beat. Also a Kostitsyn with a consistent beat. Oh, and a Plekanec with a beat, period.

Komisarek: Milan Lucic's head on a stick.

Markov: Vodka.

That's all for now. Gotta work!

There's hockey out here? Really? Why the fuck do I spend all my time following a team (a frustrating team, I might add) from Montreal, then? I must be daft.

Uhm half those strippers look questionable/like a dude.

Some Habs are having great seasons:

Huet
Ryder
Grabovski
Streit ...

Says it all really.

2 Bob - hehehe. yet thoroughly depressing

Streit's the only one on that list I really miss. The others, although they're doing well this year, don't provide anything the team doesn't already possess.
And you could even make the argument that if we had Streit, guys like Sergei, Dagger, and Gorges wouldn't be developing because they wouldn't be getting as much ice time.

In fact, I'm damn pleased with the team right now, and I think they'll turn it on during the second half as they tend to do. Watch for Pleks and the Kostitsyns to pick it up after the break, and a lil' trade of our offensive quality spare parts (Gui! and Higgins come to mind) for a quality D man and things will be sweet as candy. Yes I know both Gui! and Higgins will score 60 points each in Colorado, but meh...

I really apologize for the lucid, insightful commentary. All the crack in Vancouver is being laced with Pig dewormer and I'm forced to spend a week clean. Ho Ho Ho!

@HF29,,nothing worse than a hangover from a night at the ballet?
empty wallet, blue balls, headache, stripper dust/sprinkles all over your clothes and that bad perfume smell that won't go away....
not there is anything wrong with that?
Arse is a funny world.

Because the team out there is a douche team.

Douche is a funny word. So is douchebag. And douchenozzle.
