BTW, the CBC is re-airing that special tonight after the skills competition. It's worth watching.
I remember one year no one wanted to play in the all-star game so Scotty Bowman (East coach) loaded the team with Habs. Even Pierre Bouchard played IIRC.
I'm actually kind of excited for this skills competition. They have a Junior B (I guess that means Junior AA in QC) goalie who just gets to stand there for the super shootout thing. Apparently Ovechkin told him what move he was doing, probably so the kid could move the fuck out of the way and not ruin OV's move.

The Habs special on *cough* cbc is actually quite good. It'll make Hab haters hate even more but there's lotsa Canadiens love to be had.
Moeman - I just watched it and I thought it was awesome. I'm quite shocked that I'm saying that about a show about - gasp - the Habs on the CBC.

ditto to what 4 just said... The Youngstars game was brutally boring. But it's picking up a bit with the accuracy competition.
The pregame stuff was awful though. That band was brutal.
And I'm loving the Bruins' reactions when they get booed. I thought Thomas was going to fall over laughing when he was introduced.

Well holy fuck. Zedno Chara gets cheered at the Bell Centre. I have now seen it all.
That being said, I haven't heard it this quiet in here since the season ticket skating party last year... And there were about 30 people in here.

@LG77 - People are booing Doan over his "Fucking Frenchman" comment that he allegedly directed at a linesman 4-5 years ago, and which he has always vehemently denied.
The shootout was the best part. With all the splits & pretzel stuff Thomas was doing I really hope he strained something. Is that wrong?

Call me crazy, but this really isn't bad for an All-Star game. Surprisingly entertaining. The pre-game was awesome too. The dude who sang the US anthem gave me goosebumps.
The biggest difference between East and West teams? The East guys are trying to entertainthe fans and the West guys are just playing hockey.

New favourite moment: Price being interviewed on CBC as Kovalev gets a breakaway, gets asked "What's he going to do?" Price says matter-of-fact "Backhand." When Kovy does just that and roofs it, Price goes "Yeah, he does that a lot."
