Can we hope for a great comment from JHK tonight?

Is it wrong that when I saw the picture you posted, 29, I thought to myself - "Good pic, but it's not my favourite one"?

No?

Good.

Carry on with your non-productive day, then...

LG do you prefer this one?

Could be a good game tonight despite the Thrashers poor record. Seems like we have many good games up in Montreal--not always true in Atlanta though.

How about you give us something for M. Schneider before the game so he can switch locker rooms? :)

lawyergirl77 said...

29 - yup. That's the one!!

Seriously, I'm creeped out by the fact that I find the President really hot...

Habsfan10 said...

@ LG77: Obama's the new Kennedy, and everyone thought Kennedy was hot. These things are cyclical.

For instance, James K. Polk was known as "The Carolina Cutie" during his time as President. True story. Women LOVED the Polkster.

Some people thought Bill Clinton was hot too. At least parts of him...

10 - You wouldn't happen to have taken Gil Troy's History classes at McGill, would you? 'Cause that was something we covered (I shit you not)!!!

My word verification is "renspect" - how appropriate given the Queen of Soul's performance this morning!

Be fun to see President Obama's first Stanley Cup at the WhiteHouse shindig be for the Habs.

fezworth said...

Y'know, cynicism aside, Obama really seems to mean what he says when he speaks about 'remaking America'.

My Dad, being from India, always talks about how well loved the US is there. They actually still see the States as the 'Shining beacon on a hill', where anyone can make a good life for themselves through hard work and a little luck. They view Americans as always aspiring to those ideals of freedom, sacrifice and generally being good shits to each other.

Every so often, you'll see glimpses of that kind of attitude among Americans. I'd really love to see an attitude shift back towards that in the coming years.

Also, Rick DiPietro is out for the season. Teehee!

mr. gillis said...

Can the habs get scored on three times in one minute against the Thrashers? YES THEY CAN, so watch out

mr. gillis said...

I was just reading HF4's post at Habs I/O and noticed this:

"The flags on the cars are a phenomenon that has created cheap and easy access to what fans desire most: a way to profess public adulation and support for their team"

and

"One must wonder how the complexion of this team would be impacted by a meeting of the minds that has eluded this dressing room since they were first brought together."

Uhhh, english please.

If Obama can be president then Vinnie can be a Hab.

Choose hope people.

mr. gillis said...

dipietro is out for the season. Yann Danis is now their starting goalie until MacDonald gets healthy.

Time to get the Taveres jersey ready.

Anonymous said...

We should trade them Halak and Brisebois for Streit.

Anonymous said...

DiPietro injured? Shocking!

Haha, I guess that 10+ year contract came back to bite them! On a totally unrelated note, why haven't we traded the farm for Lecavalier yet?!

fezworth said...

Does an injured player count against the salary cap?

Young HF29 said...

hey look hockey! politics in the what now?

my god the lower bowl is 3/4 empty. you can hear a pin drop

kevincrumbs said...

Wow... haven't seen such an empty NHL arena in ages.

Did anyone also get a visual of a mug of Tim Hortons coffee during the national anthems on RDS?

Anonymous said...

@fez: If a player is placed on the IR list, their salary doesn't count against the cap until they are reactivated. This is the problem in Philly right now, because Briere was put on the IR, Philly added salary, and now Briere is stuck in the minors!

At least that's how I understand it.

I was hoping to catch the Other Lemieux tonight against the Canucks, but alas the game is PPV only. Guess I'll just go to the dentist instead.

No, really. dental appointment right after work. Someone take notes on the game tonight and tell me which is worse, a couple of fillings or a 6-0 Atlanta victory.

kevincrumbs said...

Oh no, Jaro...

moeman said...

Speaking of empty seats

1.0 Thrash.

Young HF29 said...

Ca-rey! Ca-rey!

Anonymous said...

Question:
If a team wins a game and nobody is there to see it, does it count for 2 points in the standings?

I think I figured out why Atlanta's in 29th place.

Can I get a witness?

moeman said...

No we can't.

Y'know, cynicism aside, Obama really seems to mean what he says when he speaks about 'remaking America'.

Best part is he doesn't claim anything is going to be easy, but instead of asking the citizens to go shopping while he runs the Constitution through a shredder to keep people "safe," he seems to ask people to work hard along with him to fix the mess. I know this is the first political campaign I ever got involved in.

Every so often, you'll see glimpses of that kind of attitude among Americans. I'd really love to see an attitude shift back towards that in the coming years.

You're not the only one. An awful lot of Americans want to see the same thing.

Young HF29 said...

oh Van Hab, we're well on our way to 6-0 now!

ooof.

kevincrumbs said...

What is the fucking deal with the RDS feed on Center Ice!? There are no ads (which is great) but we get to hear Pierre babble on and on during any TV breaks.

I also have no score and time feature at the top of the screen.

Young HF29 said...

/mock applause at save

Anonymous said...

Shit. looks like I'm going to have to volunteer for a root canal just to keep up with this shitshow.

Young HF29 said...

good job RDS statheads! Habs undefeated on Inauguration days, eh? that's one streak coming to an end soon

Young HF29 said...

those in-game interviews are pissing me off. COACH FOR FUCK'S SAKE CARBO

kevincrumbs said...

Shitty first period... I'd probably be better off taking a nap, watching the Australian Open or doing the dishes.

Anonymous said...

Max Pac needs to go back to Hamilton.

Beta169 said...

kevincrumbs - Its fun looking at the ATL jumbotron for such a long time on teh RDS feed! Quick - text a message to the # on the jumbotron and see if we see it!

Young HF29 said...

Ca-rey! Ca-rey!

kevincrumbs said...

fuck this shit. TFS is coming in! Let's hope he doesn't immediately get crippled.

Anonymous said...

Get Halak out NOW.

kevincrumbs said...

New pads?

Beta169 said...

You touch a Tit, a Tit touches you!

kevincrumbs said...

YES WE CAN!

Anonymous said...

There's having patience as a shooter, then there's waiting until you're behind the net. SHOOT THE PUCK!

kevincrumbs said...

We've got a game now...

I don't think they've gotten a shot on Carey yet.

kevincrumbs said...

Wait, what are they reviewing?

Anonymous said...

See what happens when you put it on net? Amazing, isn't it?

Beta169 said...

a redirect is not a kicking motion. The boys are apparently wanting to get Carey a win.

kevincrumbs said...

How will we know if they're chanting "Car-ey" or "Kar-i"?

Beta169 said...

What about the nifty brown pads from the ESPN article? Are those only for Vintage games?

Young HF29 said...

fucking videotron internet vanishes in the middle of a comeback. so many lame comments missed!

cmon finish it boys

@Beta - i love those pads. yes, vintage games only

Young HF29 said...

slashing? obstruction?? something?

Anonymous said...

Mathieu Schneider would look good in a Habs jersey.

Young HF29 said...

quelle présence !

if only you could fucking score

punkster said...

TTBB...that's definately rich!!! So why the F-U-C-K do we play so sad against the bottom feeders?

Anonymous said...

Who is the ING Direct dude?

Young HF29 said...

fuck fuck fuck

this game is a mess

kevincrumbs said...

That drum is really annoying but not as annoying as that last goal.

We deserve to lose this game.

Anonymous said...

How on earth are we losing this game?

Anonymous said...

Wow, they don't even care, do they? Sorry folks, I don't care about the nice record over the last month. You lose to NYI, Tampa and Thrashers and barely squeak out wins against other bottom feeders, you're in trouble. I don't care how many points they add up or what injuries they've had, games like these prove to me I'll be bored come the 2nd round. They're not one-offs, they're becoming the norm.

Should have started with Price and stopped shooting directly at Lehtonen's glove.

So I'm back from the dentist, what did I miss?
Ah, 4-2 eh? better than the 6-0 I predicted.
No cavities! better than the two I expected.

I feel fantastic!

See you guys tomorrow! Shanny'll get what, two goals?

The Falconer said...

I'm a pleasantly surprised by the outcome, considering how badly Montreal out-shot Atlanta in the 3rd. Three wins in a row for Thrashers. I need to pinch myself to see if I'm dreaming. I can't believe Kovlachuk missed on that early 2nd period chance.
