The Morning Boo-boo Report for Thursday, January 20th

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of Anne Hathaway as Catwoman...
  • What a day yesterday for injury watCHers. Without any official word from the Habs, bring on the guesses and RDS speculation. RDS tweeted that Squid was out four weeks minimum, yet that doesn't appear on RDS.ca anywhere, so that should give you pause. What does appear on RDS.ca is that PatCHes' ribs are only bruised, and he should even skate today to test things out. Hickey says it's "unlikely" Halpern will play tomorrow. Who the fuck knows;
  • We do know that the Habs called up Andreas Enqvist to have at least one more healthy body in time for tomorrow. He's 6'4"!!! W00t!!! Our literary commentariat (o-man I believe Steve) has already nicknamed him Scrabble, or SCHrabble;
  • God bless the Toronto Sun, and not just for the Sunshine Girl. Love this headline: "Leafs rotten to the core", which is just perfect in light of their 7-0 drubbing by the Rangers last night where Gaborik had 4 goals and the greatest goalie ever Jonas Gustavvson was pulled. We don't even care that the Rangers won dropping the Habs to 7th, the Leafs losing really badly is just too much fun;
  • The Wild know how to put away the Flames unlike some teams and win 6-0;
  • BJ's 3, Panthers 2 (OT). Talk about a "who cares" game;
  • Don Cherry is speaking up against head shots (though against actual rules to prevent them) because you know, a player he actually cares about got concussed.
Your video fun this morning is the Habs discussing a potluck dinner. It's quite amusing on a lot of levels.

Ooooo, we need some good news. The 7 - 0 Leaf loss was entertaining but we need some good news. Hopefully the Leafs will have their asses handed to them again tonight and we will beat the Sens on Saturday night.

Question: If the Leafs and Flames lose by a combined score of 13 to 0, why does TSN maintain the Sens are in trouble?

soperman said...

Friday night, the Habs beat the Sens on Friday night.

Scrabble credit goes to Steve.

Oman still needs to learn to drop the s from leafs.

Get well you fucking Habs!

Young HF29 said...

thx moe, fixed. I supposed I could have gone back and just read the comments, but that would have been work

Steve said...

In my continuing quest to help the Habs and fix the NHL, I think the hat trick is complete.

1)Replace Bettman with Dryden
2)Mandate wooden sticks
3)Put airbags in helmets, of course you would have to get the explosive force correct or a head on head collision would cause decapitation.

Patches is a fucking man.

Just heard on TO radio, the leafs are going to offer Muller Head Coach. So when Malkin comes Choula will greet him with a lasso, and stopwatch.

Had heard about the potluck question but I haven't been to many games lately, so I hadn't seen it yet.

Maybe it's a by-product of the insomnia but I laughed so hard I cried. Especially at the way Gill chastized the interviewer for not having a precise answer re: breakfast vs. dinner, winter vs. summer.

Those Habs TV things are really good this year...

Young HF29 said...

LG it's not just your insomnia, the Gill part KILLED me. "but i'm not gonna bring that in the summer, that's just silly". I think we need to start calling him Martha Stewart

the Maritimer said...

@Steve,

The lasso and stopwatch comment made me laugh until I cried. Seriously, dude you could be on the comedy network.

leaf fans are going ballistic on the G&M board...got to go check that out for more laffs.

Did I spell "leaf' right moeman?

Young HF29 said...

patCHes and CHallah both on the ice today practising. Ryan White called up. so much news!

moeman said...

+1 Maritimer.

Orangeman said...

Yes, credit due where credit earned: it was definitely Steve who came up with Scrabble. But I'm the one who discovered Anne Hathaway will be Catwoman and which is more important?

Not Geoff Molson said...

@the Maritimer. Thanks for the heads up about the Laffs comments at the G&M. Made my day. I particularly liked this bit,

"...For Mike Komisarek, keep him behind the barn and ask him for his sweater back. I have a cat that is 14 years old and has no teeth and drools, and we have the choice of putting it on old useless cloths to try and be comfortable on or take it to the vets for one last time, and it occurs to me that Komisarek's sweater would find a much higher and greater use as a cushion for this cat than being worn by this player in another Maple Leaf game. "

Those videos are hilarious. I could listen to Gill blabber on about mashed potatoes and eggs benedict all afternoon! This is what I'm gonna watch next time they give up a 4-0 lead.

another great quote from the Sun Leaf comment thread " this team has not direction, no courage. no emotion, no confidence, no talent. and most of all no coaching or management. things never change it Toronto. I too turned it off and watch American Idle. It had more talent than the leafs. after 6oyrs of being a leaf fan, I find there is more to life now!!!!!!." (sic)
@steve
1. Yeah! But he's an MP now or something, but maybe Wayne Thomas is available, would still be an improvement.
2. Yeah! Its even got to be an enviromnmental issue all those carbon fibers choking up the water table.
3. umm.. I think they should also start penalizing those idiotic after scoring cross-checks.

my two Euro-cents

WV: rachicki, is it just me or are the WVs getting better recently?

Steve said...

Dryden is a lousy MP, he thinks way to much and offers reasonable considered solutions to problems.

If airbags dont work for you how about super cooling gel, if the helmet absorbs energy beyond a given threshold a membrane breaks instantly cooling the entire skull a cooled brain will greatly reduce the damage, 15 or 20 min with the head in a Panasonic inverter microwave on defrost and the player is back on the ice.

Steve said...

@ orangeman, I could pick 5 random girls off the streets of Seoul who would look good from every angle. Ms Anne has a nice personality and is pleasant to look at but she is no Oliva Munn.[ a href="http://nextround.net/2011/01/olivia-munn-the-mega-gallery"]my vote[/a]

30 more people I would rather see as catwomen

any helpful hints from the IT department?

Young HF29 said...

it clearly says that right above where i just wrote this

Young HF29 said...

sorry Steve that sounded way too snarky. been a rough day

moeman said...

"any helpful hints from the IT department?"

FFS, use more fucking profane language.

LJ said...

walked into jersey city today (in alberta) and the guy working there is in a panic.. Iggy to the Habs.. was 5 or 6 people talking about it.. anyone heard anything like this, beside from Eklund!

Steve said...

@29 this is for you
Catwomen

I am going to look for a Habs site that does not have a fucking IQ test.

Young HF29 said...

don't go Steve! that Italian woman has the greatest curves i've ever seen! + a million!!!!

Steve said...

Big tits vapid play and the loss of little tits were not necessary. All we needed was the right assistant coach canditates

Young HF29 said...

Sexy Thursday is giving Sexy Friday a run for its money. damn Steve. how is #4 a singer AND anchorwoman?

Kate said...

Gill was too funny, but he's a man after my own heart. Eggs Benedict, yum. Wonder if he makes his own hollandaise sauce?

moeman said...

Moey, you are incorrigible!

Orangeman said...

@Steve: I had no idea the vastness of Munn's career. I only knew her from the Daily Show. And the girls of Seoul are beatiful, but let's be honest. They'd have a hard time filling out the Catsuit, if you know what I mean. I like my women like I like my mountain roads: Curvy. And life-threatening. I would not protest a Catsuit-off between the various candidates, however.

iRiRi said...

@o-man - you are in luck! It was announced Sunday that Anne Hathaway will be appearing on Glee as... wait for it... Kurt's lesbian aunt. Stay tuned!

For all I hate about Don Cherry, him being a Bruin, and me being French, even if I live in the states, he's been consistent and correct on hits from behind and head shots. I think he knows personally what it feels like. As for the rules- Hockey Canada solved that. Just use that rule. Part of the problem is USA Hockey was too bleeping stupid to step in with a similar rule at the time. The offenders are most often Americans.

Word Verification= ronstur
Don Cherry is often afflicted with goading from the ronstur.

Steve said...

@29 its obvious we have a huge culture gap with Belurussian, can our anchor girls sing or look good in a Bikini, maybe in San Diego they do and thus the thrust of little tits. If I watched the news for my whole life and singer anchorwomen were splashing in Bikinis and I saw Sandi Ranoldo I would also go limp or into a slump.

But for assistant coach we have to carefully scrutinize the candidates. So those jack of all trades like the f35 i REJECT. The circus performer is the best fit.

Steve said...

@orangeman per square meter there is no place with more ipumnida than Seoul. But when we broke up after two weeks why did she get my apartment, and why do I still have to pay?

I agree about the curves, and handling the curves is difficult, thats why Italians invented Ferrari.

bitCHes, Vendredi Sexy, c'est demain.

Busy night for me!

I have a solution to the injuries: industrial size bubble wrap and Nerf pucks with sheet-foam covered boards.

Did Price say fried bread? Maybe Gill should start cooking for him. But honestly, Markov's answer killed me.

Holy hell there's nothing but SUCKULENCE on TV.

moeman said...

Best food answer was "beer".
