The Morning Skate has a bad taste in his mouth as the All-Star break begins on Wednesday, January 26th

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of making it to 112 years old...
  • Blech. Blech blech blech. Habs played a great 15 minutes of hockey to open the game and really looked like they meant business. Then an almost comical series of penalties late in the period resulted in two Flyer PP goals, and it was all downhill from there to a 5-2 final. LEARN TO COUNT TO FIVE SKATERS ALREADY FOR FUCK'S SAKE. More later, if we can stomach it. Blech;
  • Some consolation for scoreboardwatcher as the Rangers lost;
  • Yay! Ottawa got a point! We're pity-rooting for them now;
  • We would never pity-root for Toronto, tho. Bolts 2, Leaf 0;
  • Pens doing it with defence, 1-0 over the Isles;
  • Saku had a couple of assists in the Ducks' 3-2 win over the BJ's;
  • Some player we never heard of is suing the Ducks for anti-semitism;
  • Isles suspend Nabby for not showing up.
OK, deep breath. Om, om, om.

Let's trade for Jason Bailey. I think the guys would probably like to have someone else around to lead services already.

In the hard copy of the star some accountant calculated the cost per goal for every NHL player. Little TiTs made number 5 for cheapest goals, surprisingly Mex was not on top 5 most expensive, see there is good news out there.

If we all think really hard maybe the GSM will hurt Pronger, and heal Vodkov in time for the 3rd round of the playoffs.

As disappointing as lats night game was there are several good things to take out of it.
First WE did NOT give them their first shutout!
Second i strongly believe tere is a curse attached to being first in the East - last couple of years teams that have finished on top have NOT performed all that well in the playoffs with a second roud byebye (Ottawa, Montreal Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington etc)
third, the team gets a break - bruises have time to heal, muscles to relax and they get to air out their head.

see I'm determine to stay positive and not let them (I refuse to speak their name) get under my skin (of course if I see anyone wearing orange, I may get violently abusive)

I'm starting to think that the playoff run last year was a case of bad timing for les Glorieux. There was no way to dump Chocula, based on that run, even though Jaro 1.0 deserves 90% of the credit.

Look at what Guy Boucher is doing in Tampa. Granted, he has some actual scorers on his squad and that makes enough of a difference to cover up the defense's warts.

And, they went out and found a goalie as well.

I bet the Lightning give the Phucktards a good run for their money come springtime.
