- Alright, now I can say it - Habs Suck. I didn't see it, but I can only assume we suck after a 5-2 loss to the Devils. More later today? We'll see;
- B's beat the Leafs 4-3 in a shootout, with Michael Ryder getting the shootout winner;
- Speaking of ex-Habs, take a deep breath 'cause Mickey Ribs got his first career hat trick in the Stars' 4-1 win over the Panthers;
- Flyers didn't have much of a problem beating the Thrashers. More proof Habs suck.

Instead of a game recap, I expect a Lost recap.
Apologies to Gord Downie and to the town of Bobcaygeon, a sweet Ontario spot to fish, I know, I've been there at 5am, in a bass boat, beer in hand....
I left the game last evening about a quarter after nine
coulda been the Benoit Brunet, coulda been the wine
when I left the game last evening
it was a little after nine
it was in Babscaygeon I saw Habs constellations
reveal themselves one star at a time
Clicked back to the blog this morning with posting on my mind
I thought of maybe quitting
thought of leaving my Habs behind
went back to blog this morning
and as I'm scrolling down to find
the score was dull and typical
and falling one goal at a time
Last night in New Jersey with its fucked up score
riding on Gorges back and losing once again restored
til our men they couldn't bang
fucked up one and all and even Lang
and no goal nets rang with that Habsian twang
I got to the blog this morning just a little after seven
in the middle of my coffee
couldn't get losing off my mind
so I'm at the blog this morning
just a little after seven
cause it is in Babscaygeon where I see Habs constellations
reveal themselves one star at a time
" Yeah Moe, that team sure did suck last night, they just plain sucked! I've seen team suck before, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked!"
Homer J.
Things started out just fine, with Saku back on the ice, Price starting and some optimism coming into the All-Star break. Then all of a sudden there was a strange ringing sound and a huge flash of light and Jersey was up by two goals, Scott Stevens was on the ice and I swear our goalie's sweater said "Hackett" above the number 31.
I checked my drink and my surroundings to make sure I wasn't hallucinating, walked into the den to double-check the score on my laptop and I couldn't find it anywhere. I picked up the phone to call my buddy on his cell and the number was not in service, so I ran back to the TV but before I could change the channel I heard the strange ringing sound and there was another flash of light and I was standing in my living room again, but I had a wayy bigger TV and a Habs game was on. The opponent was the Winnipeg Jets and Olli Jokinen was their captain. I examined the rafters of the Bells centre, counting Cup banners. Still 24. FUCK
Claude Lemieux is my constant
@moeman - truly an inspiration. and HF10 and I have a connection to that song from law school for a long and convoluted reason, so doubly well done sir
Why do Pierre and Benoit continue to insist on wearing the same suit?* Do they realize how stupid it looks? Something tells me Benoit's doing it out of spite. I like to think that every night before climbing into to bed, Pierre gets on his knees and prays for Yvon to be back next year.**
*avoiding talking about the game itself
**which, of course, we all do. Except for Benoit. He prays for more donuts.
Kovy was named the captain of the East for the ASG and Joe Thornton is capn of the west.
Kovalev Kind of reminds me of John Locke. He played like a paraplegic two years ago, then went flying around in his plane and somehow could move his legs again. He's done some crazy shit to make us hate him, and he's also done some crazy shit to make us love him. He didn't really ASK to be a leader but is being thrust into that role. The odds are stacked against him, there are more likeable players, but he might just be the guy to get the job done in the clutch.
East down by a goal with a minute left, Thornton on a breakaway, winds up to shoot and before he can release, falls stone dead to the ground, hunting knife protruding from his back.
Mentreal so bad teem
Chips and Stewart sent back down: http://habsinsideout.com/main/14282
All-Star break evaluation.
Glass half-full version: we finished 2nd in the East despite many injuries.
Glass half-empty version: we haven't dominated a single game, Carbo doesn't have a clue, and doesn't believe in his players, and it doesn't look like our youngsters (Tits, Pleks, Higgins) will ever be all-that.
half-empty! half-empty!
HF29,
The only two songs I remember from skuul were an hallucinatory version of Welcome to Tijuana and a bastardized version of Love Shack. The rest is a blur. :)
