The Morning Skate for Friday, October 23rd

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of January Jones' cleavage...
  • Well, we admit it was just the Isles, but we're gonna enjoy it while we can. A very impressive 5-1 win where all four lines seemed to generate offence, the defence looked decent, and we can even laugh at Jaro's gaffe that led to the Isles' only goal. The only bad news is that now we officially have a goalie controversy. More later today;
  • Crazy final minute in Ottawa as the Preds go ahead, then the Sens tie it (shorthanded no less) with less than 2 seconds left only to lose 6-5 in OT;
  • Kovy wins Kovy vs. Ovie, but the Caps take the game 5-4;
  • Devils beat the Rangers in the Batlle of the New York Metropolitan Area;
  • Flyers take care of the Bruins in a SO. Habs have as many wins as the Bs now. Suck on that, preseason predictors;
  • Yotes continue to roll (BWAHAHAHAHA. No, we're serious), with an OT win over the Wings no less;
  • BR finally checks in on the Frog book.
Mmm, long-form video highlights.

BR calling others racist. eesh, look in the mirror bert, the image is pretty fucking ugly.

In fairness to BR his comments in that linked article are pretty reasonable. He says there may be discrimination but it shouldn't stop us from seeing the problems with hockey in Quebec.

Also the only time he calls someone racist in that article, he is undeniably correct.

Goalie controversy? Halak faces a few shots against two of the worst teams in the league and we have a goalie controversy. Only a media-created one.

I think he could have had a beer between periods and the outcome would have been the same. Though after the way that 3rd period started I think he did...

Woo! Regulation win! Finally this team takes advantage of tired "weaker" teams. A good warmup for the tougher New York team Saturday. (And just our luck they come in after a loss. Joy.......)

At least we got Metro back!

That was a nice piece of entertainment, even on domestic beer.

What, no Jaro post? Man...

Good game by the Habs!

nothing like a game against the worst team (oh wait, burkey's boys are the worst, my bad!) in the league to boost confidence. the big/little (blittle?) 3 looked great together tho...die rangers die!

Suck it Burkie - your team has less points than a triangle!

And in other last night game news, with his five points last night vs the Bluejackets, Edmonton's Dustin Penner now has as many points (14) as the Leafs have total team goals

And nice to see that the Habs beat the Islanders, preventing TSN from having a Tavares sploogefest (or a further anti-CH party).

WV - falst as in Peeair falst to his knees for his man love Burkie.

Damn that's true. Shutt used to take games off when he was doing Chanel by the pool with Minnesota hookers and Harry Howell. I forgot that.

Thank god Ti Guy was too pesante to ever go the Charlie route, he just drank Dow, and martinis when they had to let him in the Ritz when he bagged 50.

Rangers next. Cunts. Andy Bathgate, hell of a slapshot. It was Bathgate who drilled Plante on October 31 59, right in his big fat Chanel filled nose. So Plante put on THE MASK. Damn I hate Bathgate.

My fridge is open gotta go.'=

The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the entire contents of their trophy case has been stolen. Police are on the lookout for a man carrying a blue and white carpet.

In case there was any doubt that the Leafs run Hockey Night in Canada

January Jones is indeed nice looking but I still can't help but think of her as psycho Betty Draper. My all time favourite for hot woman on Mad Men is that crazy younger gal Don met in California when he went AWOL for a couple days in season two. Yowza.

Back to your scheduled hockey talk...
