The Morning Skate for Easter Monday, April 5th

Bullet points for what you missed while having nightmares of a violent World Cup...If we're not mistaken, we won twice over the weekend. With shutouts! But no video. So here. They're like a day old, but have some delicious highlights anyway. Let's enjoy them while we warm up for the final week. Warning - features Bob Cole.

@Moe
It's like when JFK was shot. I remember that goal like it was yesterday. I was in my parents basement standing one inch from the tv when JD called the ref over to the bench. I can even remember what I was wearing. That spring was so much freakin fun.

Yup, memorable. Somehow I just knew Eric Desjardins was going to score.

Also, what, were, you, wearing? Tube top and short shorts? Diaphanous summer dress? Sweats and a tee?

Levis and a striped t. They still sit in my closet.

Although I did watch the '89 playoffs practically naked due to my teeny tiny unairconditioned upper duplex university apartment in Toronto which, that summer, was the hottest place tied with hell. I spent intermissions in the freezer.

heh, tiny apartment with a walk-in freezer, university days priorities were fun. Hope you didn't poke any eyes out. NTTIAWWT.

@gg got a wonderful visual on those 89 playoffs!

Condolences to Moey. You are (Mc)sorely missed.

Anyone here a baseball fan? There is a wonderful writer who goes by the name of Grey at Razzball.com. Haven't laughed so hard since...well...FHF!

I wish, Moe. Teeny tiny apartment in the Annex with a teeny tiny fridge and a teeny tiny freezer. I stuck my head in to breathe. Rest of my body had to fend for it's self.

GG just gave Howard an even more wonderful '89 replay from various angles.

HF29 & all the FHF commentors,

Thank you all so much for your kind words and expressions of sympathy, even though we've never met, it feels like family here.

I've spent the last few days eating and drinking and because of logistics we'll only be doing the memorial and final burial in early July, so we get to eat and drink all over again. One thing about the British, they love a lively funeral, sort of like an Irish wake. To them it's a celebration of life. We'll do her proud in July. *hic*

Back to the business of hockey tomorrow night, go you stupid Habs!
