The (probably last) Game Day Skate for (the probably last in-season) Sexy Friday, April 23rd

Bullet points for what you missed while dreaming of hot sports mistresses...
  • In an epic 3 OT, Sens stay alive with a 4-3 win, led by Pascal Leclaire. Pascal Leclaire? Anyway, let the Habs show that much pride and work ethic tonight we'll be happy;
  • Buh-bye Devils. Props to the Flyers (ugh we feel dirty) who really dominated the #2 seed;
  • San Jose has the Avs on the ropes with a dominant 5-0 win;
  • Patrick Sharp had a couple of goals as the Hawks even their series;
  • Matt Duchene, Jimmy Howard, and Tyler Myers are your Calder finalists;
  • Carbo leads our U-18 team to a glorious 7th place finish;
  • Here's that video of Ovie spraying the little 6-year old Habs kid that everyone is talking about if you haven't seen it yet;
  • Caps-Habs updates: Jaro 2.0 is out. Whatever. Like it matters.
OK, this is it. Or is it? Game 5 tonight.

Call me crazy but I think that if the Sharks can win their series, they just might go all the way and win the fucking Cup this year. Lots of adversity in their series so far that they've managed to overcome, unlike the crappy team we all support.

That being said, Joe Thornton still sucks donkey balls. I feel sorry for the donkey, though.

Why does it feel like I'm going to a funeral? Sigh.

Despite my threats otherwise, I will of course set my alarm on a Saturday morning to wake up and watch this stupid game. Win or lose I'm a goddamn Habs fan and I goddamn will watch every last goddamn period I can with this goddamn team. I believe they stood toe to toe with the Caps most of the time in this series and should have won game 2 for several reasons. But it is what it is and I'll take what I can get.

Either way, I'm taking the stance my parents have to each other; I've made my choice and since I'm stuck with it there's no use sitting around complaining. That's what booze and pills are for.

@KC,

I beg to differ. For the most part the Habs have played their little hearts out. They have to play a perfect game to win, which is almost impossible. Add some size up front and a solid (young) D man in the off season and we'll be rockin' next year.

Btw, just saw the last line on this Sexy Friday post. It reminded me of that Simpsons ep, I believe 'Behind the Laughter' where the voiceover guy says something like "Will that be the end? No, it wasn't. Or was it? No." Or something. The point is the Simpsons take me to my happy place.

Yeah I'm not watching tonight. If the Habs think I'm staying in on a Friday night to watch that bullshit they are mistaken.

Now on the other hand, I'm torn about the Pens/Sens series. Do I want the Sens to win so that Canada still has a chance at a cup? Or do I want the Pens to win because let's be honest, I don't think the Sens could crush the Caps like the Pens would.

Decisions decisions...

Go you fucking Habs!

Oh if only the Habs could go to triple-OT...but they couldn't because Hamr will probably pass out by the 3rd period and Bergeron will assist on 3 goals by the Caps. Either way:

GO HABS GO!

MORE WODKA!

And may Price get that fighting major he's looking for!

Also, sucks to be the Devils but at least the Habs aren't the first voted off the Island...

I think that there's a much bigger issue out there that must be addressed...

Maybe it's because I'm a teacher, but as much as I hate kids some days, they're off limits.

Orange, I'll send social services to Korea after they leave my house. I'm also quiet enjoying your parents view of things. Around my house we live by the motto Freedom 55.

Actually you may have hit it on the head-
voted of the island.
Jacques and the Brossard Habitants.

The behavior of Ovechkin and some of the other Caps gives me concern that we may be seeing a little 'roid rage. Not just the kid, although that puts an exclamation point on it, but the offensive use of the body checking, a little too much a little too often. Bad for the game. Carey, on the other hand, is just an idiot sometimes. He won't be mature until he is 25. Must have grown up in a bubble. He is still pissed about not being an olympic goalie.

GG11: haha. See, my parents only had 3 kids in which to unlod their psychological torment on. I have dozens. Anyway, I'm still the most positive influence in these kids' lives. Have you seen an Asian parent? It's like they're driving, but worse. I kid, I kid.

Nothing could be worse then they're driving.

haha.

@orange
I have 4 to torment but when I'm standing on the coffee table and yelling at the tv wearing a hockey sweater backwards in order to rally the team, apparently I lose credibility. Maybe I need a trip to Korea.

By the way, I typed "they're" twice when it should be "their". Yup, I'm an Anglash teechur.

@Orangeman - I'm with you - I'll watch tonight (hopefully not for the last time this season but probably). Being in the UK the game won't start for me until midnight, so I can have a pretty good drink beforehand and it won't be painful - I'm a happy drunk so no worries with things getting out of order. Like my old man (RIP) always said - as a Habs Fan Son - you will love them win or Tie - just don't let them tie too often. Thank the Lord he is not around to see this version of Les Boys. I think the motto shold be changed to: Live by the sword, die by the mistakes of useless D men who can't skate backwards - but that's just me!

Go You Fuckin' Habs Go!
