Capitals in a Buying Mood: Acquire Fedorov, Give FHF an Excuse to Post Hot Russians

Minutes after fleecing the Habs for HueT, Ted Leonsis opens the bank again and grabs Sergei Fedorov from the BJ's.

FHF was suffering today in the hot chicks to serious hockey talk ratio, so we thank the Caps for helping us out.

Idle Speculation:

Bob's 'plan' was to get the Habs in a position to win next year, right? Some sort of celebration of team longevity.

What if by trading Huet, he's just following the plan? Making TFS the big man now lets him get playoff experience this year, come what may, and no matter what happens in the Hossastakes.

Getting Anaheim's 2nd round pick in return isn't great; but the braintrust has done more with less... Andrei Markov being a case in point. (6th round, 162nd overall)

It's not the worst plan. I don't think they have a lot of FA signings to make to keep the team together (Ryder, who they might not bother with, Streit). Still wish they'd done better for Huet though. They're going to take it from the press all week now.

And now, Washington got Cooke for Pettinger. Now that's some activity...
