Habs to play hockey in abandoned giant toilet bowl with giant erect penis

According to the Journal de Montréal, the Habs are on track to play in the Big Owe November 28th, i.e. 6 days before the December 4 anniversary. FHF already discussed this when the plan was announced, but now it's looking much more firm. It's the Journal de Montréal, people!

Pierre Boivin says that tickets will be cheap and plentiful for the game under the stars under the collapsing roof. Yay, more money for beer and meth!

Play on the Olympic rowing basin!
The penalty box can be a hole cut in the ice!

Honestly this is the worst idea since...since...

Since Gino Odjick traded his last condom for meth at the teen dance on the reserve!

I'm struggling to get my head around the "why" of this issue. Why does the 100th anniversary game need to be outdoors? It's one thing in a football or baseball stadium, but a retractable-roof dome doesn't give you the experience of being in the elements -- it just allows the possibility of snowdrifts. And why not just have it on their true home ice, under the banners and such?

Is there something I'm missing about this whole situation, or is this just a gimmicky, tacky attempt at cramming more bodies into the venue?

Other better places to have it:

Beaver Lake

Outdoor rink at Old Montreal.

FHF's. I have a headline for your morning skate: Mike Fisher is dating Carrie fucking Underwood.

I'll be first to say: congratulations, fucking asshole.

66,308. That's the capacity for football, and it would presumably be in the same ballpark (excuse the pun) for hockey. Think about that number for a second. 66,308 tickets. Sold out, of course. Makes sense to me.

Wow. That's one ugly stadium.

That's even uglier than the remodeled Soldier Field (which looks like an alien mother ship squatted on top of the old stadium to take a dump).

@les_glorieux: Molson Stadium holds fewer people than Bell Centre. Why the fuck would they want to play in a *smaller* venue?
