- Trade deadline! Came and went! There were a lot of trades! The exclamation points are to hide how fucking boring that was. And after the Dagger blockbuster, the Goat stands pat. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss;
- Ryan Miller stopped a lot of shots against the Caps, but not enough of them as the Sabres fall 3-1;
- In the only game around the clusterfuck last night, Phlyers lose to the Panthers. We can see 6th place! [/laughs maniacally];
- Edmonton gives up 47 shots, only get 14. No surprise, that equals a loss to the Hawks;
- Mike Babcock, after the Wings lose to the Nucks: "We were poor. We were poor in goal. We were poor in the back end. We were poor up front. We were poor in the work ethic department." Don't hold back Mike;
- Our old pal Sheldon Souray is out for the season with a serious infection in his hand. Yikes. We wish him well.

My poor Shelly, *lip trembles* get well soon! Moey's famous chicken soup is on the way. *sob*
The goat decided to leave us wysiwyg for the rest of the season. I was hoping we could open up a spot on D for PK. He was electrifying in the two games that he played against Philly. I can't remember leaving my seat so many times whenever he touched the puck! Oh well as the saying goes: next year for the messiah! I think the Flyers and possibly the Caps and Hawks are doomed in goal. I can't believe they wouldn't pony up for Jaro. TFS and Jaro CAN carry us in the playoffs. The operative word is "making" them first. The saga continues tonight...GiantMexicanCHicken roving the beaches of sunny California while Pearl necklace eats a sandwich from the lunchbucket. Don't feed the whale!
29 - Not that anyone cares about how the other teams in the race for 8th spot are doing, but your link to the Broad Street Bullies game seems to be pointing to the Caps feeding on Mr. Miller.
WTF is it with Anaheim and Toronto's goalie rejects? 3 in play on one day?? Didn't they figure it out with first 2 that it's not a fucking good idea to take TORONTO's goalie rejects?
And while we're at it, why is Daryl Sutter trying to re-assemble the 2009/2010 Leafs? Surely there are better vintages he could choose, though he might need wheelchairs for some of the guys on the last good Leafs team.
@Le Douze -----> FREE BIRD FEED
I'm really hoping our "cup holders', Gomez, Gionta, Moen, Gill will step it up from here on in, especially Gomez and Gionta. Tastes like CHicken???
@howard - meep, meep. thx for the inspiration
WV: carsperm. !?
Well, I guess if we could only trade one player and it couldn't be Gomez (Gomez's contract to be specific because I wouldn't mind Gomez at 1/2 the price), then Dags was the guy to go. And I have no doubts Guy Boucher will work wonders with the new guy and we'll soon be looking forward to Palushajpalooza!
@Le12
Carsperm: that was the talking car commercial that ctv cut where they're on one of those car transport trucks, they hit a bump and the car on top.... never mind.
@Howard
How big is your bill at Acme? And do they give Airmiles?
I was hoping that TSN would trade McSplooge to a station that didn't broadcast in Canada.
Here's a question that has been nagging me.
When, on l'antichambre, a Dave Morissette or a Denis Gauthier starts a sentence with "If I was the GM ..." ("Si c'etait moi le gerant ..."), why doesn't everyone within earshot not simultaneously say "Stop right there" ("Wo bonhomme ...")?
@soperman You wouldn't want to see the rewards for those miles!
Mcsplooge to the KHL for Perezhogin, Valentenko, Yemelin, Korneyev and a case of Moskovskaya for Vodkov!
@Le12 - thx, fixed. Even if no one cares, I do.
Oh, I just remembered we traded Valentenko as part of the worst trade ever contract wise. That is some hot burrito!
Just went over the recent trades...how did Mtl slip that Moore acquisition through. That guy is a bum and should be in the AHL or even better the IHL. He certainly doesn't deserve to dawn Rouge, Blanc, et Bleu in my opinion. Case and point why the NHL needs to downsize.
Don't agree. Moore is a decent 4th liner who can play on the PK, and generate a bit of offence. Remember for most of the year JM was playing with three lines most of the game, and had Pleks and Gomez doing all the PKing.
Having a guy who can pitch in will help the top players.
You can`t really blame The Goat for not doing anything yesterday. I mean, apart from that Oct. 1 Toronto game, has this team ever played a game with a full roster?
I don`t usually like using injuries as an excuse because other teams have done well in spite of them, but...
NHL Hockey is so boring that I actually played WoW during the Habs - Broons game.
Wait, did I just say that out loud?
FUCK.
Thanks, 29 for the fix. Apparently I'm too lazy to look for the article myself, so at least one person benefited. Booth and Richards, eh? I guess that one had some history.
@GG, I guess I'll need to look that one up, we don't get CTV down here. Something to look forward to when I move back north this summer?
On Moore, we could do worse, I suppose.
Downsize the NHL- Yeah.
Buyback the franchises the league already owns/ pays the bills for. It should cost nothing.
That would make the playoff system make sense- maybe even go back to qualifying by division rather than this strange top 8 imitation of the old ECAC qualification system. I haven't looked at gate recently, but the last time I looked Bettman's put hockey in every basketball venue bet looked like a looser. Is round 2 in Atlanta any more successful than round 1 with the Flames? If Phoenix isn't selling out with the year they are having something is seriously wrong there. Can Florida support two teams without selling plastic rats? As for McSplooge- send him back to Jersey where he came from.
