- There are many ways you can look at the Habs 5-4 (SO) win over the Oilers last night. On one hand, we played like crap and should have lost to the worst team in the league. On the other hand, it's two points. On the other hand, Jaro was terrible. On the other hand, we've lost many games we've deserved to win, so maybe this was just karma. On the other hand, well, I'll just STFU already;
- B's prepare for our Staurday night tilt with a dismantling of the Flyers, 5-1;
- Toronto is hot, baby! Help the Habs by denying the Bolts a point;
- Atlanta is fading, lose to the BJ's, which gives the Southeast division title to the Caps. On March 12th;
- Panthers are slipping to the bottom of the clusterfuck, lose 3-0 to the Avs;
- Kipper shuts out the Sens;
- Sharks score 6 goals in the 3rd to beat the Preds 8-5.

Huh, I went to my prom with a lesbian. I honestly don't remember how it ended, but I do remember looking around the next morning and knowing it was great.
On topic, the clusterfuck seems to be streamlining a bit. The south east teams are dying off, although maybe we have the Whalercanes to worry about now. I thought Boston would die off, too, what with a 7 game road trip and Savard out. Not yet though. It's early and I take nothing for granted, but I don't know if meeting the Caps in the first round is such a horrible thing despite their probably Presidents trophy. Habs have played well against them this year, plus they have shoddy goaltending. I'd rather have them than the Pens is all I'm saying. But there's still a month to go so I'm trying not to get ahead of myself.
In other news, it's Friday night here and I'm holed up in my one room apt with a bottle of whiskey listening to Leonard Cohen. Do I know how to party or what?
I'd rather go to the prom with a lesbian than a guy in black face. Of course the guy in black face would probably rather go to the prom with a lesbian too than with a 45 year old mother of 4 but that's not the point.
I can't believe those blackface a-holes made the news this morning. Then again, it IS CJAD! So much political incorrectness and bad taste. I say yay to the lesbians!
I went to HIO to read Boone's about last night, is it just me or has their format gone all wacky? On the bright side, there are no comments, that's a big improvement.
Does anyone think the guys in black face intended to be racist or that they just aren't aware of the connotation?
Forgot to mention that the lesbian I went to prom with was also in black face. In that she was black. Well, heavily Native anyway. Great woman, actually. She's devoted her life to working with at risk kids. We keep in touch.
Also forgot to mention that had a dream about Cheryl Bernard last night. Wait, no, I intentionally didn't mention that. Nevermind.

Wrote a letter of complaint to the Bell Center (bottom of the Habs page there's a "contact us" thing). I remembered my brother pointing those idiots out before, so this isn't the first time they've done this!
..Despite last night's suckfest victory (and really, lovely goals by the Brothers), hearing the Sharks scored 6 GOALS (unreal) in the 3rd to rally and beat the Preds kind of alleviates the sadness of giving up two goals in the 3rd and losing to them 3-2 while playing well....

Tony Marinaro just had one of the "blackfaces" on the phone. He was very apologetic and meant no harm or racist inference. Still pretty ignorant if you ask me!
In fairness, the reason blackface is offensive is that it is associated with minstrel shows.
If you didn't know that, you might not think painting your face black is offensive per se.

Is it just me or was Halak completely beat on most of those shootout attempts. I had finally crossed over to Team Halak (like it or not he is getting the wins) and he does this. The thing that pisses me off the most is, if Carey was in nets I seriously doubt they would have scored 4 goals. Poor fucker.
In general, dressing up as another race is pretty offensive, especially when that always involves playing up stupid stereotypes.
I happened to catch the second half of the third period of the Predators/Sharks tilt and man, was that a fun one to watch as a neutral observer. Ellis should've stopped that Pavelski spin-o-rama, though.

Did anyone other than me think that Vodkov looked slightly Gill-like on that one-on-one puck race with Penner last night? It didn't look so bad on the replay, but at the time Vodkov looked outclassed to me. It's a scary thought that he might not be perfect.

Sadly, the only thing that'll eliminate more idiots attempting to pull stupid shit like blackface at the Bell Centre is media coverage. Not sure the actual guys who were in blackface will be embarrassed but the team should be sufficiently embarrassed and not let morons like these into the Bell Centre anymore.
