This is Rachael, one of the Flyers' Delta Dental Ice Team. I have no idea what the Ice Team does, or what Delta Dental is, but Rachael lists Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam as one of her favourite songs, which is an HF29 favourite too.Rachael is the only non-evil thing about the Flyers. Don't say FHF didn't have something nice to say, Flyers fans.

Being a heterosexual female, I'm sticking with the whole "there is nothing that isn't evil about the Flyers" argument despite Rachael's obvious talent at whatever it is she does.
...although kudos to her for at least picking a favorite song that wasn't sung by Britney Spears or a big purple dinosaur.
I gotta say, when I went to the Caps game in DC, and all they had were a lame "ice crew" made up of old dudes and one younger trainee dude, I kinda missed the Ice Girls (Delta Dental Ice Team) in Philly. Not sure what that says about me. I guess I'm just used to seeing their smiling faces?
But really, they do a great job of scooping up the ice!
Hey, now, our "ice kids" are youth hockey players! I much prefer that to ice skanks, thank you ;)
Don't worry, I've heard through the grapevine that next year the Caps will join the rest of the SouthLeast in having Ice Girls. Woo.
Thank goodness you'll be getting ice girls, because your "ice kids" looked kinda "special". I was worried for them out there!

In MTL we actually have trained technicians to pick up the ice. We are serious about hockey.

Saw PJ at the Bell a few years ago and YL was definitely the highpoint. Last song. All lights on. She would've loved, I'm sure.
hey now, there is nothing evil about the Flyers... sure they may like to bend the rules a bit sometimes and say cross check someone in the face, but that doesn't mean they're evil... i know derian hatcher is only good for trying to destroy opposing players, but he can't help the fact that he is actually a robot (that's the only reason i can come up with for why he's so immobile) and he's been programmed to kill... and sometimes when he doesn't meet his kill quota he turns on his own team (just ask Lupul)... but that still doesn't make them evil...
in all seriousness though, i'm really looking forward to this series. i just hope that whoever wins kicks the crap out of the pansy penguins next round.
@zwirb - i was at that show too! (well ive been at just about every PJ show in Montreal since '92). YL was phenomenal

HF29: I know what you meant. On the other hand, I don't think the Ice Girls get Flyers paychecks...just a gym membership to help stay in shape.
@HF29- Thanks, it was my co-blogger's idea. He found it hilarious, I thought it was stupid, but I didn't fight him on the name. And it has met with great approval from everyone else...
